Ive been to WDW since 1971 (opening year) and have gone with my parents and Grandparents many many times as a child.

Then I went to WDW while on leave in the Air Force.

Then I went with my gf-Fiance-wife.

Now I go as the father.

And one day I will be the Grandpa that takes my Grandkids to WDW.

I remember making my parents and Grandparents soooo sick on the Tea Cups and laughing my A#$ off doing it. Last time I went in tea cups my 2 kids made ME be the one who BARFED.
WDW is truly a legacy to me.:sohappy: well maybe not the Barfing part

My dad has been a Cast Member for 35 years. He met my mom on a Cast Trip to Spain. I grew up going to the parks all the time, was surrounded by Disney my whole life. Now I have come full circle and am a Cast Member too.

If I ever have kids...well, I'll try not to pressure them. :D

I am 31 years old and I go to Disney at least one a year, and have since I was a year old. But my favorite trip of all time is when my mom and I took my grandmother, who was 75 at the time. She was VERY sick, but wanted to go to Disney. She has such a good time, and forgot all of her pain, illness, etc. In fact, when we stopped to watch Illuminations, we turned around for a second, and turned back around in time to see my grandmom had jumped up on the ledge for a better view!

Those old commercials about 5 years back said it all---

I understand the generations. I first went with my parents after my divorce with my two children in Christmas 1972. I took my granddaughter in 1998, and wow what changes. I have been back to WDW a total of eight times, and it never fails to show me the Magic.

Wow great idea!

I think you guys have pointed out something very interesting! I think the topic of "generations" would be great for the next ad campaign or celebration. Grandparents, Parents, Sons and Daughters and thier kids. What a great idea! Although thats kinda what magical gatherings was all about. I really do think the company should target more than the just parents with little kids. There is so much more, how many times have we all been there and we see these stressed out parents with screaming little kids. Also, think about alll the times you see Grandparents, Parents and teenagers having a blast! Celebrate Disney generations! I know that probably didn't make any sense but I'm in a hurry and just typed something out fast. Sorry.

That is really neat, and would make a great thread.

Started going myself back in 1971, with my parents and grandparents. We went at least once a year until about 1991. Then travelled there with my friends about every two years...including my gf, who became my wife.

Then a few years ago, the cycle started again...travelling down there with my parents, my sister and her family, and my own family...

We just move more slowly now - multiple strollers, more potty breaks and a bigger group, but it's a lot of fun. I'm just glad my daughter is finally tall enough to do all the attractions, for I need a ride partner for the big and scary stuff. Everyone else has a reason not to...

I was born on October 9th 1971...in Coral Gables, FL
My mom said I went to Disney two weeks after I was born.
She said she would take me every year on in October. We moved closer to Disney when I was four, and my mom took me every month. When I got older I would go atleast 6-8 times a year. When I was in high school. I would go every weekend (sometimes just to walk around). My mom was part of a marketing group that would get invited anytime the park added something new (hotel, park, ride). I remember going there when EPCOT was being worked on and you could there on monorail and walk around the globe only.
I joined the USAF in 1990 and went every year atleast twice, taking advantage of the Shades of Green when they opened. Got married and had a son in 1993; and took the new family there that xmas. We were living in Jersey, so we only went once a year.
We moved to Marietta, GA in Dec, 2005; and have gone about 6 times now...with our last trip xmas day to EPCOT )little lines cause it was raining all day.

I love DISNEY!!!!!

and the LADDER!!!!

Each of our kids know that we'll be the grandma and grandpa who will take the grandkids to WDW. No doubt in my mind either. I'm in no hurry for the grandkids, everyone needs to finish college still BUT...I'll be up for the trips when the day comes! My kids made my mom dizzy on the teacups too, I have priceless photos of them together on the ride. We know what we're up for...and we look forward to seeing the MK thru little ones eyes again and again!:)

My dad took mum and myself in `79 to see this `Disney World thing` - we were staying at relatives in Toronto and flew down for 5 days. Little did he know what he was starting...

We took my Grandma in `81 - as ilvdisney said earlier mine was also unwell; indeed she passed away later that year.

I went 2 more times with my parents, then in `93 I was a big boy and went on my own with my then fiance.

In 2001 I took my current girlfriend, who`d never been to a Disney park or Orlando before. Thankfully she can understand why I love the parks so much. Her face as we turned the top of Main St. and saw the castle was priceless. And I got it on DV :)

After that it`s been DLP twice, and hopefuly WDW soon. She`s adament we will stay at the CBR again. Fine by me!

As a kid my parents would take my sister and I to WDW at least every two years. And my mom even said I went while in utero. Now that I am married with my kids my mother in law tags along to take the kids around the parks to the little kid rides while my husband and myself feel like kids again on our own. Of course we all meet up around meal time and do some activities. This year was special my dad drove all the way from Pensacola just to see me (hadn't seen each other in three years). Made my entire year seeing my dad and how happy he was to actually have a conversation with his only grandkids. :sohappy: :D
