You talking about this -Somehow KK has returned
Fascinating article. Cleanup on aisle 4.Somehow KK has returned
She may not be involved as a Producer in those movies which would explain why they aren't mentioned. Those might be under Filoni/Favreau instead. So I wouldn't read too much into them not being mentioned.Fascinating article. Cleanup on aisle 4.

What’s really interesting is how emphatic she was in demonstrating how involved she is in active projects. Name drops projects underway for The Mandalorian, and those with Shawn Levy, a trilogy with Simon Kinberg, Taika Waititi.
Yet nothing whatsoever on the Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy film that was supposedly next in the production line, or anything about the Rey trilogy. Or the Rian Johnson trilogy. Did the Deadline stenograp- I mean, reporter not know to inquire as to the status of these projects? It’s also weird she didn’t bring them up.
The entire point of the article was to demonstrate she wasn’t going anywhere and wasn’t retiring soon. She’s been a producer for every movie and live action series released since she took over Lucasfilm. She’s also a producer on the Favreau/Filoni projects. She may not be involved as a Producer in those movies which would explain why they aren't mentioned. Those might be under Filoni/Favreau instead. Filoni is making sure to push out the Mando/Grogu movie first, so that may also have something to do with its continual discussion in this article.
I'm aware of the point of the article, I think I summed it up pretty well a few posts up, one you liked by the way.The entire point of the article was to demonstrate she wasn’t going anywhere and wasn’t retiring soon. She’s been a producer for every movie and live action series released since she took over Lucasfilm. She’s also a producer on the Favreau/Filoni projects.
The point was that the original Puck article basically said she was leaving Hollywood completely, almost short of saying she was being forced out. This article was to clear up that she isn't leaving Hollywood or really LFL just stepping down from her role as President and going back to the role of Producer something she has been doing her entire career. That article confirmed the report that she’s stepping down this year. What was the point of that outside of taking shots at the original reporter who reported on her stepping down earlier this week?
I don’t believe the original Puck report said that she was leaving Hollywood, just that she was leaving Lucasfilm sometime this year. Other articles mentioned her retiring but not Puck, but that didn’t stop the writer from slandering the reporter. The point was that the original Puck article basically said she was leaving Hollywood completely, almost short of saying she was being forced out. George Lucas is 80.
I hope you spread some of your high dudgeon to those suggesting George take over again since he's so *OLD* and couldn't possibly understand Star Wars!!!
Ok, sorry but I don't call what was written slander. But whatever, I'm just glad that we hear right from the source what is happening.I don’t believe the original Puck report said that she was leaving Hollywood, just that she was leaving Lucasfilm sometime this year. "My spaceship was gaining altitude" ?
It’s much easier if you stop thinking of Lucasfilm as a studio which intends on making theatrical releases, and instead look at it as an artist in residency program. Why would you give Simon Kinberg an entire trilogy? LOL. The dude is trash. Look at his filmography.
What did she last do that was successful?
I think the force awakens was the perfect start. the rise of skywalker was enjoyable but had to do too much because for some reason they decided to bring in a director with a whole different creative vision and so j.j Abram’s had to do all the work to set up palatines return in 1 movie.I haven’t been following this too much so forgive me if this has all been discussed already.
I’m a huge Star Wars fan. Love it all, games, movies, shows. The sequels are definitely my least favorite, and I have HUGE problems with TLJ, and don’t really understand the perspective of it being some sort of masterpiece. That is primarily from a film perspective, not a cultural one.
Disney Star Wars has been a mixed back. Mando has its moments, good and bad. Andor was fantastic. Boba Fett was pretty bad. I found the Acolyte to be pretty awful.
My overall verdict is simply it could be so much better and moving away from the Skywalker’s would be really beneficial.
The greatest errors of the sequels are 1) they are unnecessary as RotJ was a perfect conclusion. 2) they were disunified. There really should have been a coherent vision from the start. And 3) There are large stretches that are just poorly written.
Overall I hope that the new leader of Lucasfilm can take Star Wars to a fresh, new setting and allow creatives to make choices without being strapped to the baggage of Skywalker.
TFA wasn't particularly good, it just seemed that way compared to the PT and benefited from a decade of nothing theatrical being released. RoS is in a close race for one of the worst movies (with a budget) ever made. Right there with Attack of the Clones.I think the force awakens was the perfect start. the rise of skywalker was enjoyable but had to do too much because for some reason they decided to bring in a director with a whole different creative vision and so j.j Abram’s had to do all the work to set up palatines return in 1 movie.
Disagree. I liked the prequel trilogy so that wasn’t a problem for me and I was only just becoming a really big Star Wars fan at the time so I hadn’t been waiting for new content for years.TFA wasn't particularly good, it just seemed that way compared to the PT and benefited from a decade of nothing theatrical being released.
