I also wonder how many little girls there are out there who can identify him like they claim one did in the video.

Not that everything should be catered to little kids. I just say that since they bring the story up in the video.
My children are 9 and 7 and one of them did exactly what the Imagineer described during our August trip to MK— but I don’t think it’s us based on the timeline. In our case, my husband made our kids watch his movie so they would have the appropriate background for MNSSHP’s parade with the headless horseman. If they had installed it 6 months earlier, best case would have been “look, somebody is in the window!”

I do think it could create some opportunities to get young park goers more interested in a Disney classic, and it would be a nice nod to their lifer fans if they put more stuff in that was a delightful surprise primarily targeted at their fans who have actually watched the deeper cuts in the catalogue.

Also, given that it is screens based, is there anything at all stopping them from putting in more famous land-appropriate characters during the day and deeper cuts at night?

I wonder what made them choose Ichabod specifically for this. Not that I’m complaining, but it’s such a strange choice.
Another thread mentions the company has had eyes on removing HoP for a long time. Perhaps Sleepy Hollow IP moves in and allows the colonial aesthetic to remain while linking it closer to HM and the future villains area?

This is 100% speculation and guessing.

I vaguely recall talk of a Sleepy Hollow dark ride in the 1990s...it was never explicitly noted to replace HoP but that was the assumption, and there is enough room in that building for one.

If only they’d done that back then, people wouldn’t have cared nearly as much as they will in the social media age. Especially with the current political landscape.

After the political firestorm that Disney just went through with DeSantis, I can't imagine they would choose this time to make a major change that they know is going to rile up the exact same base once again. Although Trump is a controversial figure (to say the least), their safest bet is to just leave HoP where it is and have the Trump animatronic give the speech. In other words, do it the same way that it's been done forever and do nothing to rock the boat.

I think that’s what we get, at least for now. I still think they’re eyeballing it for 2026-2027 after people have cooled on the election a little bit. That way they can say that they gave Trump some time and this is unrelated.

If they really do want to change, I think their smartest move would be to get the attraction updated as per usual for Trump's presidency and then announce that they will make the change immediately following the 2028 presidential election. That way, they're announcing it when not only do we not know who the next president will be, we don't even know who the candidates will be. Trump can't run again, so there's no way changing it after 2028 could be an attack on Trump.

Yes
According to another thread, it's part of their grand design to do away with Liberty Square and anything Colonial or Americana.

This does that for reasons...
I think the possibility of Liberty Square being drastically altered at some point in the future is a very real possibility. If Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America can be removed, I think that the area that everyone has to walk through next door is on the table as well. We shall see!

Drew don't scare me like that.

TTC parking booths had a power outage that lasted for at least 25-30 mins and just ended. Never seen that ever before.

The Disney of old would have applied the 5 keys and waived the cars through.... Current Disney: Do you know how much parking revenue we would loose?
Revenue isn’t even one of the 5 keys and courtesy, efficiency, and safety would all say the right thing to do is to let the cars in.

I’ve been waiting to get in Mickey and Friends parking structure for about 10m, after learning that Pixar Pals is closed and being forced to circle…they appear to be have fewer than 10 tollbooths open total.

Opposite coast, but cost cutting is brutal.
