Ok, I have had enough!

This tread started out simply as an informatioal thread...just giving some dates in case people were interested....
People have turned it into a combative thread...and thats not nice...
It has been said that a certain individual dosent care about others opinons...then why do you keep posting?? Its like you have to defend your character... EVERYONE has a right to their opinion...an opinon can not be wrong or right...it is an individuals OPINION!
Everyone has a right to enjoy their trip to Disney...and I have been to almost ALL of the special days...(I am straight, but I go when I want to go...and it dosent matter to me when the so called Gay Days are...I have several friends who are gay...and I see them EVERY DAY!)
Oh, and for your information...
Night of Joy is a special TICKETED event...It has several concerts and such geared toward the Christian community...and guess what?? Its an open event, and ANYONE can buy a ticket...I happen to like some of the bands, and have been to several in the past...and Gay as well as straight people go!
Give it up and get a life...most folks who go to Disney you wouldnt even be able to tell...judging a person by the way they live is wrong..we are all people, and we all have the right to live as we Choose...and remember this...
"judge not, lest ye be judged" Boy that has come in handy quite a bit lately...Hmmmmmm

Hey tgggrl, the only reason I keep posting is cause other CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS, keep qouting me and bashing my thoughts and ideas, and yes my opinions. So if I offended you in any way I apologize but yes I am defending myself, cause I will not let someone say I am worng when it is just an opinion.

I Called Disney and they could not give out information on this subject. They did hint about an internet site www.gayday.com where there is a scheldule of events.

I emailed the guy who owns the site and he was nice enough to tell me that Gay week starts May 30 and ends Sat June 1.

Is there some reason why you chose THIS subject as your first post....? If this post was for information only, there would have been no need to qualify it with, "I am in no way Gay Bashing."

...Is this the reaction you expected?
...Do you think this has been a positive, constructive debate that changed anyone's opinion?
...Do you see the infighting that has resulted?
...If you did this to cause trouble, you're gonna find it ....I promise!

Bravo!....the ONLY thing that can be learned from this thread is that people have very little tolerance for the other person's opinion when it comes to this subject...much like life OUTSIDE the forum...

Let me just say as a former MK CM, that Nights of Joy are absolute hell. The kids are unbelievable rowdy. They have no respect for rules, other people, or anything actually. Now, that doesn't mean every one of the kids there are stupid idiots, but there are quite a few. The only thing worse from what I have heard is Grad nights. Thank god I missed those. I will admit though that I loved the entertainment at Night of Joy. I worked crowd control each night at the main stage in front of the Castle. The Newsboys rocked and now I find myself buying a few of their CD's and following their careers. The song Breakfast is great! And the routine of spinning the drummer around up in the air is awesome. Too bad the attitudes of quite a few of the kids in attendance made it rough to work because of the way they were acting.

... so get your buck and put it back in your pocket, cause I could care less with what you have to say.

And you have the nerve to call someone else an “ignoramus”?

I don't have anything against gays (other than the fact that seeing 2 guys kiss is gross to me), and I agree, its perfectly fine for them to plan an event. The only problem is, I think Disney really should sponser the event, that way they could inform everyone of the event, as I'm sure many people are upset finding once they get in the park that it is Gay Day. Disney sponsering the event would also eliminate the controversy of the event.

Thanks Tramp! I was thinking the very same thing. I do not have the vetern status that others do so I kept my mouth shut. This was probably intended to do just what it did, get everybody wound up. I smell a troll.....

actually, Grad Nites aren't as bad as night of joy. Usually in Grad Nite the kids are soooooo plastered by the time they get there, they're too stupid to do anything bad. Meanwhile w/ Night of Joy, parents drop off they're trouble kids to a "Christian Event" in the hope that they'll see the light. And as for Gay Day, all of the annoying, pushy guests that I can't stand are usually homophobic as well, leaving MK full of kind and polite guests, and guest relations up to their neck in complaints.

Looking over this thread rather quickly, it seems that there are some who are upset with Disney for not alerting prospective guests about Gay Day. Don't you think that since this event is not sponsored by Disney, to tell people they may want to consider another time would be setting themselves up for a major lawsuit? From all indications, Disney has no official connection to Gay Day, the same way they have no official connection to families that may gather there for reunions, weddings, etc. I am not saying that I am in favor of the event, but Disney, as a business, has no choice than to remain neutral.

and what are those complaints you ask? well, here's a few:

1- "I saw 2 men w/ a red t-shirt walking SIDE BY SIDE ."

hmm.. this person has obviously never lived or been to a crowded metropolitan center

2- "I saw 2 women kiss themselves on the cheek"

This person has obviously never met a latin-american or european family, been to Latin-america (i'm counting miami) or Europe, or been close to their family

3- "I saw a gay man holding a little boys hand"

The concept of gay parenthood has obviously not dawned to this guest.

4- "No one told me they all wore red T-shirt"

I'll assume he lived in a cave

I rest my case. Until the small-mindedness of our society fades away, we'll never be a truly Cosmopolitan (yes, that is a word. It means: World-class) society.

there's my $5.99 (am I out of my mind!)

to think the repercussions that would be started by human vitriol

nope, Night of Joy is Disney's attempt to leech of the popularity of Christian artists in order to make a quick buck. However, given the fact that it is a "Christian" event, many stressed out parents will drop their kids off there in hope they may see the light.

Hey Parents, Ever heard of TALKING TO YOUR KIDS?!?!?!?

And I'm sure Night of Joy doesn't touch a single person :veryconfu That is being very small minded. Sure there is the business aspect but if that event changed one kid from becoming a rapist, thief, wife beater, etc, then that is all that counts. Besides, it has some great performances:)

I've worked NoJ the past 2 years, and I can honestly, in clear conscience, say that I didn't see a single person who was touched by it. If someone was, I missed them, and if you were, I'ld like to shake your hand

Finding salvation at the night of Joy at MK sounds almost as ridiculous as coming to terms with got while at Rock the Universe (or whatever the call it) at Universal. Lets face it: it’s an excuse for kids to spend the better part of a night at MK without supervision. :)

TO EVERYONE,

I really sincerely apologize for getting a bit worked up when defending my opinions, I believe others did as well. My intentions were never to get on anyones bad side. I know I caused a really big mess here, and I am sorry for it. Things got a little crazy and some of you took it way too seriously and personally. Now let's let this thing die off. OVER AND DONE WITH!!!
