Anymore sightings of gators in the Rivers of America in Frontierland/Liberty Square?

If they can get in there, what's to keep them from crawling up on Tom Sawyer Island and..........well.....looking for lunch?:lookaroun

The only alligators I have ever seen at MK and AK have always been small ones and always swimming/floating in the water, never on land. And honestly, unless you do something to provoke them, they will leave you alone.

funny story:

My CP rep told us this story that one of her friends worked at Grand Floridian and a gator had crawled up on the beach. Her friend was walking around by the beach and saw a mid 40's man with his camara telling his daughter, approx. 9 to "get closer, get closer" "We need a good picture of this" The girl look terrified, but slowly inched closer to the gator.

As soon as the cast member saw what the dad well telling the little girl to get closer to she ran over and told the little girl to come back....The dad's response to the cast member was "Are your gators not trained here at Disney World?"

HAHAHAHAHAH!!! Dumb ______.....

It is safe to assume that any body of water in the state of Florida has at least one alligator in it. There is not a big issue with them attacking people except in rare cases. Alligators are ambush predators so they really don't actively hunt down prey on land. They wait just off shore and strike when what they perceive as prey walks by. In many of the alligator attacks on humans the victim was walking or running past the water wearing light color shoes which the experts surmise the alligators are mistaking the shoes for a bird or some other natural prey.

Last year at CSR, we were sitting in a hammock and noticed one sitting in the shallow water right by the beach, we left and came back about 2 hours later and it was still sitting there.

Im guessing they get alot of small gators there and the fact that they are small, they dont worry about them causing any harm to anyone?

Now that they won National Championships they're all over the place.
Kinda like roaches.
Except maybe Ohio.........

Not sure about that - I think we now OWN Ohio

Anyway, this Gator will be at the MK (and everywhere else at WDW) next week :D

Got a picutre of this one under the foot bridge in Frontierland in 2004. I'm no reptile expert, but I'd guess about four feet to four and a half.

Yes, you pretty much do - however we Buckeyes own the rest of the country. Coming in second isn't that bad.

If a Gator fan orders one of us Buckeyes to get them a beer all we have to do is tell a Michigan fan to get it for ya! :D
