Our family (6) had dinner here 2 years ago.
Our service was very good! Refills came quickly/plenty to eat!
Food was edible.
Best part for all of us was "The Characters"... we LOVE to dine with the characters. One of the biggest reasons we are in Disney.
You will have a nice time. Enjoy:sohappy:

We ( hubby, Me & my DD -10) ate there for our 1st time in Nov. the food was ok. we did it more for the character dining.

We probably will not eat there again.

We ate there last Jan. and the only reasons we would do it again are because of the characters (they are great!) and because my husband absolutely LOVES Living with the Land. The food is barely edible and the meat comes with this funky sauce on it that does not taste good at all. The salad is good though.

The absolute worst food I have ever had at any resaurant in or out of WDW! We had 6 in our party and the only thing that we ate was the salad. Character interaction is great but the food is so bad I would never go there again even if it were free.

It is our very favorite character meal, and my whole family likes the food. It is one of the few places that has become a "must do" for us on every trip.

This is one of our family's "must do". Great place to eat and the food is excellent. Characters came around plenty of times and my little boy loves the rotation of the place. On our list for this March as always! Enjoy!!

It is similar to Liberty Tree Tavern in style and menu choices. IMO the food was far better at GG than LTT.

It was great and the dessert is a Blueberry Fruit Buckle and it is by far the best dessert I have had in WDW!

Again, this is another place that has gone downhill.

I have eaten here maybe 4 times. It used to be decent food with good character interaction. The food was nothing special, but it was standard run of the meal fare. Since it's family style, you can stuff youself to the gills if thats your bag.

The last two times I have been there it has become worse, to the point that I don't plan on going back anytime soon.

The flank steak used to be an attraction. It has a smoky marinade on it that is (or was) quite nice (the recipe is in the recipe thread in this section). It was my youngest daughters favorite. The steak was also cooked medium - not my first choice, but passable. Latey the marinade has been lacking in flavor and is more of a sweet sauce (the 'funky sauce') mentioned about. Last time we ate there my youngest asked that we not go again, and I just make the steak at home.

Plating was pretty sloppy the last time as well. I know it's family style, but it really looked like somone just scooped the food out of a bucket and slapped it down on the platter.

Hey crush dude....just FYI:
I just wanted to mention that I'm pretty sure the character meal at Garden Grill is only at dinner. If you go for lunch, I don't think you get characters. I've never been there, but someone else may be able to confirm/deny this.

I had dinner there back in 2008. My 8 year old still talks about it as one of her favorites because of the character interactions, the scenery from the rotating restaurant, and the decorate-it-yourself cupcake dessert.

I had an asparagus risotto that was OK (the vegetarian option).

The characters at dinner really did seem to have a lot of time to spend with the table and visited several times over the course of our meal.

The negatives were that our particular server was just phoning it in. She seemed really unhappy and would have preferred to have been somewhere else. Also, it felt like the restaurant furniture was a little beaten up and in need of replacement.

I remember eating there as a 16 year old with my parents back in the mid 1980's. The rotating restaurant thing made a big impression on me then as well -- and I recall enjoying the steak. ;-) They also had these really cool EPCOT Center matches that light up with a green flame initially.

We ate there last week and it was just OK. The blueberry cobbler was really good though. However, they do not have lunch there - only dinner. They don't open until 4pm. I didn't find that out until I tried to make lunch ressies there.

I think they are having trouble figuring out what to do with The Garden Grill. It's had several scenarios over the years. They used to serve breakfast there as well as lunch and dinner.
Part of the problem may be the overall seating capacity. It may be too small to provide a sustaining number of guests and table turnover. Not sure.

In the past it was not very visible. Now, however, thousands of people walk right by the entrance every day due to the popularity of Soarin'.

A catchier name may help.
'The Garden Grill' sounds like a noveau salad place.
Something like 'Mickey's In the Round' or 'Goofy's Eatin' Place' or 'The Glider Hanger' could help.

I like The Garden Grill and hope it gets some TLC.

We ate lunch there for the first time in 2008. The food was very good, the character interaction was great and I loved looking at living with the land as we slowly turned while eating. We are planning to go back again in September 2010. This resteraunt for lunch was a very pleasing surprise.
