Oh, yes...much more to come.
A certain new (;)) character made possible by the RW should be interesting on the show.
And of course...the next wedding.
I believe we'll have to wait till next season for more wedding action. I can't believe this season is over already!

I agree. No way they are going to stick that in this season finale. Actually, I think that will not happen until several episodes into the next season.

Cannot wait for tonight! Although it makes me sad that it is the end of this season.

Of course nothing could top last week's episode. This week was slow in comparison, but a good episode nonetheless.
Lots of things done setting up for the action if next season.
Highlights tonight:
Horrible as it was, Robb being led around on his horse with the wolf head.
Arya and the Hound in the woods.
Joffrey yelling at Tywin, then backing down immediately with Tywin giving him that look.
Joffrey yelling "I'M NOT TIRED!!!" like a cranky five year old.
Seeing Maester Aemon.(I had been wondering if the actor had passed away)
The final shot of Dany and the slaves of Yunkai.

On a side note: Emilia Clarke is one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen. Can we petition Disney to make Dany Targaeryn an official Princess?

Arya is out avenging her brother and mother and poor Sanza is still a little child, lets put sheep dung in his mattress! I feel so bad for her she is just so naive.

LOL! I also exactly described Joffrey as a five year old when he was pitching that fit. That was amusing, as was the fact that Joffrey thinks himself the real power because of his title. And such a little brat wanting to serve Robb's head to Sansa at his wedding.

Sad, naive Sansa. The fact she thought that "shift" was the curse word for dung. Only served to make more concrete to Tyrion and the audience that she is really just a child. And poor Arya! So close to her family; but that girl is made of steel (Valyrian steel?) and making the best of her bad situation.

This episode did seem anti-climatic. Not a surprise, given last week's episode. But I thought maybe they would put in a bigger event into this episode than they did (not RW big). The episode was definitely muted, but I still liked it.

And now I will have withdrawal! Not looking forward to TB, as last season was so awful. At least the final season of Dexter starts soon. And that Ray Donovan looks good also.

what doesn't gel for me is... Joffery is such a power monger.. that he tries to kill tyrion.. and he doesn't see himself as a lannister... so why is he so scared of tyril? It would be in character for joffery to order tyril killed in some swift action for going against him.

The other kids have family playing into their mind.. and they don't have the blind power joffery has. Seems a bit odd that Joffery would have the same fear of tyril as the others.

Falling Skies started last night. I like that show. Waiting for the episode to show up on demand.

I think you mean Tywin?

Joffrey sees his power as being king. he is king b/c his father was king. Therefore, his power is from being the son of the King Robert Baratheon. Really, he is simple minded, and doesn't see what really has enabled his ascension to the throne (beyond just primogeniture) - or more importantly what allows him to keep that throne (hello grandpa!). He is a silly, silly boy playing a man's game. And a smart man's game at that.

I think even if he tried to act against his grandfather, Joffrey would find himself alone. I cannot imagine who would dare act against Tywin, even on King Joffrey's order. Pretty much everyone knows Tywin is the real power. But Tywin has no "legal" claim to the throne. And in any event, he does not seem like the type of man who would want it anyway. Much easier to wield power more behind the scenes.

Joffrey is a typical child bully. He doesn't try to bully anyone with real power. He goes after the weak like Sanza or people it is acceptible to go after like his uncle Tyrion. People with no protection like Roz. In the book there are othe examples of him picking on the weak members if his court because he knows what he can get away with. He knows deep down he can't get away with an attack on his grandfather.

The sword has no brain... all it takes is motivating the man behind the sword... through fear or loyalty. And the move is absolute.

What joffery would have to fear is being left ALONE in such an action.. meaning lets say... if the rest of the small council would turn on him, etc. You can take out of power broker in a swift action, your concern is where the rest of the power brokers land afterwards.

Remember, outside the small circle... Joffery as the 'king' is good enough to make people jump when he says jump. It's only in the inner circles were people would dare defy the king's order.

Not an overly exciting episode, but I guess that's to be expected since it ended in roughly the middle of book three.

Loved Arya and the Hound.
Interesting scene with the Greyjoys. (Brought to mind a skit from SNL with Timberlake...:))
The Robb-wolf looked appropriate.
Davos is the most honorable guy in Westeros.

Next season should be killer.
The next wedding...
Tyrion...
Perhaps a stone heart...

I forgot to mention one of my favorite little things about last night's episode. That Tyrion seems to be keeping a "hit list", just like Arya. Although he made it seem he would prefer to go about his hit in a different manner, I think if push comes to shove, he would be on board with Arya's revenge of choice as well. :)

Remember, Joffrey himself doesn't really have a legitimate claim to the throne.

Here's something i'm not sure people remember about Joffrey. It might not be explicitly stated, but i think it's safe to assume he's aware of the rumors about his parentage.

If you've forgotten, or haven't watched the first season, King Robert wasn't really Joffrey's father. His father and his uncle are the same person. Yeah, gross right?

I'm pretty sure he believes the story, he's at least heard the rumors.

This is true only if it is known about his true parentage.
At this point, only Cersei (and maybe Jamie) knows this. Probably Varys as well, since he pointed Ned in the direction to look to find this out. Ned lost his head after confronting Cersei with this information.

Tyrion knows, too. Tywin likely does. Naturally Jamie. I'm sure lots of others suspect but keep quiet about it, like Baelish for instance.

And Stannis, I think. That's why he claims the throne for himself. And he knows he has/had Roberts true son locked in his dungeon.

But it's wildly rumored.. even outside the court. Joffery obviously is aware of the rumor... he killed ned stark over it :)
