Future World's Future Not Bright????

Epcot bashing is indeed, in vogue at the moment. I think thats where the negativity comes from. When you step back, and look at WDW as a whole, Epcot's place is evident. There are all kinds of stimulations that come from WDW and Epcot is clearly in the "right brain" department.

I'm not sure if Walt wanted an almost exact Magic Kingdom of Disneyland: USA in WDW, though when he points to the diagram of the Magic Kingdom on the map, there are many similiarities to the original MK, right down to Tomorrowland's two main buildings.

Perhaps that was just to show where the MK would be in WDW, and that was all they had for reference. I would think that with Walt creating new attractions, that if he lived past 1966 we would have the MK we in WDW had actually started out with, a slightly bigger and eleborate one with new or slightly changed rides so east coasters could get a bit of taste of the original MK, while having unique features of their own.

The WDW disneyland was indeed going to be similar to DL in California in terms of lands and theming, however, there were going to be many different rides. Instead of Mr. Toad, there would've been a ride based on the Legend of Sleepy Hollow, instead of Snow White, there would be a ride based off of Sleeping Beauty. I think the Western River expedition were in these plans as well, so POTC wouldn't have been cloned . When Walt died however, Roy wanted to make it almost completely the same as DL for some reason. Hence why Snow White and Mr. Toad were cloned instead of the Sleepy Hollow and Sleeping Beaty original rides.

Was reading at work and didn't have time to respond to thread's original points then.

But yes, most of what he describes as negatives are positive. Recognizing SSE is a classic and keeping most elements is a good thing. Re-doing TLS is a good thing.
Gutting and replacing WOL is not a good thing, from my point of view. However, I'm obviously in the minority here and since they are keeping the pavillion closed almost all the time, it would be better to do something with it and OPEN IT!!

So all in all, it's good

Ok, IMHO, let's leave SSE as is except for the ending. Update to reflect the present and projected future from our present.

WOL needs changes SSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOO Bad! Ok Body Wars is good but can use some changes here and there. The rest of the place has been boring and more of a rest area.

As it becoming a Pixar place, let's see what they do and as long as it can be themed correctly. Monsters, Inc. can be use for like Cranium Command (keep this one but update it a little bit and don't lose Phil Hartman [R.I.P.] from it) with how scares and laughter helps the body or something better. Don't know about Toy Story (over at Tomorrowland & Studios), Bug's Life (at AK), Finding Nemo (Living Sea) because (as noted) are at other areas of the resorts but it does leave Incredibles and Cars as the only not use (yet) Pixar movies. I would like Cars to be used at Indy Speedway than anywhere else.

Ok ranting over :hammer:
