I did read these "new" "rumors" and said to myself, "tell me something that we don't know."
Agreed... most seemed like old rumors to me.

What I found most interesting about the article is how JH put a negative spin on these rumors.
When hasn't JH put a negative spin on everything he wrote?

Although it's certainly debatable whether Pixar should/should not be more greately infused into Epcot, certainly no one could or should argue that addressing issues in the park, spending money to renovate and retheme attractions and rides and generally being pro-active is "bad news."

Good point... I personally have no problem with a movie overlay on the pavilion... Pixar or not. My first reaction is always this... Will the rumored changes bring in more guests and/or help WDI tell a story better? I'm all for any change that will lead to more guests and a good story... whether edutainment or just entertainment!

I read the article earlier and all I kept thinking was:

No roller coaster on the outside of SSE; this is good

They are taking their time to redo the outside of TLS: this is good

Retheming a closed attraction and opening it: this is good

And what JHM would say...

If they decided to do Time Racers: "Oh my, they're getting rid of SSE--shame on them".

If they didn't take their time redoing TLS: "A quick rehab=budget cuts and other downfalls."

If they didn't retheme a closed attraction: "They should rehab the attraction and open it."

If they keep on this road with Epcot, it will be a super park! It will become even more competitve with Magic Kingdom. Hopefully, they will continue this trend with Disney-MGM Studios and Animal Kingdom.

What's the beef with Jim Hill Media?

STR8FAN2005-
How can LSU be the SEC Champions when the championship game has not yet been played? You won't beat Georgia. You were lucky to beat Arkansas, Bama, Auburn and Arkansas.

I am curious to know why there is so much animosity directed toward Jim Hill Media? Is his information historically not credible?

I have faith in my team. Georgia will be tough, but in the end the better team will win. As for the other teams, Alabama was the #3 team in the nation at the time, Auburn is an awesome team, and we have a rivalry with Arkansas. Hopefully, USC will lose this weekend and we'll get a shot at the National Championship:sohappy:

I think that JH's most recent article that we are discussing does a reasonable job of summarizing the spin he typically puts on his articles and information.

Although I have never personally tracked the credibility of his "rumors" or "inside information," it does appear that he prefers to paint a "sky is falling"/"doom and gloom" spin on nearly everything he offers...apparently believing (erroneously, of course) that bad news sells better than good news and a controversial column is inherently more popular than a non-controversial one. To each his own, but this latest seems to be quite a stretch.

you stole my thunder.... some media groups (news, radio, print, web) thrive on bad news...... always looking to report the bad and not the good due to the fact we live in a society that thrives on controversy and drama........ dont believe me, look at all the "reality" TV shows and the smut on TV. it sells to a large majority of people.

so yeh, instead of the "feel good" story that make people look, media types (some) report on the bad story to make people look twice

Bad news sells.

Although I agree with everyone that this sounded all like good news. I'm looking forward to the possible rumors.

Some people are constantly "anti" everything Disney does, and strive to find the negative in everything. That's their opinion and right to do so, and it's up to the reader if they choose to read it. I personally choose not to read it.

ive been reading jhm for quite some time now, and in no way are they "anti" disney. they have very interesting material...and are usually one of the first places to show new information. dont judge, unless u know.

First, huh? Interesting how many of their stories feature rumors that were discussed here days before.

Also, it's fairly well known among the fansites that WDWMagic is the place to get the best information concerning rumors / news at WDW. In fact, I used to read other boards and became amused at the number of times threads were started about rumors posted here. One of the boards even went so far as to block WDWMagic links from posts. You couldn't even post a link to this board.

Only one that makes me slightly skeptical is the "Pixar Showcase" idea...i mean...come on. Throwing three random films into the pavillion (with no relation to Future World or Epcot whatsoever) wouldn't be a good change IMO. I'd much rather have a new attraction fill the space along the lines of Soarin'/Test Track/Mission:Space, or maybe even something like Storm Rider.

Allow me to provide an unofficial response in defense of Steve and wdwmagic.com:

I must respectfully disagree. I, too, have and continue to read JH Media regularly and with interest. I haven't seen any real rumor "scoops" by JH in the nearly four years that I've been reading it. His articles, in particular, appear to fit into one of a very few categories: 1) unfounded rumors about staff/imagineer/animator layoffs and cutbacks; 2) bald predictions about the imminent poor box office performance of a Disney movie (most recently "Chicken Little") that end up being flat-out wrong; 3) Disney hierarchy reorganizations/shake-ups that will spell trouble for park guests (and don't); 4) general complaints and vignettes about JH being escorted out of a Disney theme park for attempting to run a tour business from within its walls; or 5) a plea for money to support the website.

Having said that, I do read the contents of JH Media and, as I said earlier, to each his own. He must provide a service or function or the website wouldn't exist.

you're kidding? He tried to run and unauthroized touring company inside the park. How did he do that... did he honestly think that sort of think was legal.. .sheesh.

Wow... you nailed it! Good job with the concise and accurate description.

I usually only "read" articles that are linked here as part of a discussion. I do, however, "browse" the articles once every week or so to see if anything jumps out as interesting.

Personally, I think that's good news. IMHO I would like a whole different ride system for SSE, but I know a bunch of other people want it to saty that same, and I respect that. WOL being replaced? big deal, it needs it badly. TLS, even better, the two part renovation has worked well so far.
