Anyone have info on upcoming animatronics to be used by Disney? Anyone know what they may be using these realistic human faces for?

It's so refreshing that Disney uses real animatronics instead of just plopping guests in front of screens on all of its attractions. Recent examples of groundbreaking anamatronics...

Radiator Springs Racers
C3PO
Mr. Potato Head
Ursula
Ariel
Lumiere
Wardrobe
Jack Sparrow x3
Yeti (RIP)

Huge props to Disney for carrying on Walt's tradition of using incredible AAs in the parks!

They don't need to farm it out. They have enough left over from World of Motion, Horizons and the original JII to last for what, 200 more presidents in the Hall of Presidents.

animatronics...yesterday's technology. novel in 1975...not 2012.

They are still good and fun. And can be updated. Just because the whole idea is not new does not mean that a current version is not up-to-date or innovative.

Other wise you could say that cars were novel in 1915, but not today. But a current model car, while still a road-based mode of transportation, is a far cry from a jalopy made in 1915...

I love good audio-animatronics in the right environment. That is the key: do they enhance the show or attraction? And in many cases, they do. In some they would not.

On what grounds, not being a Disney fan on a Disney site? Time for you to reevaluate things.

For deliberately getting under people's skin, under the guise that you're simply here to profess everything you love about the wonderful magic of Disney. That's why you post in the News/Rumors forum. You are, indeed, a very gifted "troll".

Time to reevaluate what it means to be a fan, as opposed to a junkie.
