I've only been to Disney World once for 2 1/2 weeks, but on several different days there were glitches.

Pirates of the Caribbean - Near the treasure room we stopped for like 10 minutes and couldn't see anything, we had no views. Then when it did start back up it went really fast past Jack and his bounty.

It's A Small World - 5 min wait til ride resumed

Carousel Of Progress - Got stuck about halfway through and song kept playing over and over again. "It's a great big beautiful tomorrow shining on us each and every day" I like the song so it didn't bother me. Eventually kinks were fixed and we resumed ride.

Splash Mountain - Broke down where Riverboat is and then after 10 minutes resumed.

Test Track - stopped for a couple of minutes when you do the curve turn test thing but then resumed.

Spaceship Earth - got stuck for 5 minutes when your on your way down to exit and then resumed. It would have been way better if I got stuck near Walt!!!

Dinosaur - From the moment we rounded the first corner the car would stop and then after a few minutes resume, this happened til the turn into "we're not going to make it" when we saw other people make it and then a CM came out with a ladder for us to get out. An Evac!!! Got a Dinosaur Fastpass with no time specified.

I didn't mind when the rides had there glitches, my friend and I would just sit there and laugh. The only issue is, I missed my Expedition Everest FastPass when Dinosaur broke down, I could have made it!! Allwell I had the fun of rides malfunctioning and keeping me on them longer.

I remember one time a few year ago, I was on UoE and the movie at the end wasn't working and long story short, we had to leave. But, before we left, a cast member tried to explain the rest of the ride, "And then Judy, no, Ellen, no, ummmmmmmm, Judy answered the quest...no, what is brain power, no..."

I'm glad I already knew the ending...

and probably could recite it from memory :lookaroun

I, too have been evacuated from UoE in the final scene! It was odd, I could tell from the moment we started going into the final room. The projector was just projecting on to the reddish curtains... the screen apparently didn't want to come down! So, the vehicle very abruptly stopped, and the lights started to warm up.

The CM announced to remain seated, blah blah. Maintenance was already in there tinkering with the controls. She came over to the cars and manually released the doors, and was like "I'm so sorry. Just be careful when you come out, watch the drop." All the while, Stupid Judy and Ellen were still playing Jeopardy!

The automagical doors opened and we were all shuttled out... but a lady with her baby was walking through and the doors closed on her! It nearly clocked her poor little one in the head. I asked the maintenance guy to open the doors back because there were still lots of people coming out, and a baby almost got a concussion, and he just rolled his eyes and walked away. Jerk.

Other than that, Rocket Rods is just about the only other Disney ride I've had issues with :lookaroun

Oh, except for Splash. Love getting stuck under the gophers that pop out and scare the bejeezus out of my sister

Not so much a funny one but one that drove us round the bend! We got stuck on Splash where the bees are for 20 minutes! After 10 minutes, we were begging them to turn the sound off! After 20 minutes, it was stuck in my head for the rest of the day! Even now, it comes back to me now and then...:lookaroun

On our last trip we went on Carousel of Progress during EMH. We were on the 2nd or 3rd scene and it was over and the song started playing and everything but the carousel only moved about a foot. So we had to sit through the same scene again. So it ended and we actually moved that time.

I, too have been evacuated from UoE in the final scene!

I've experienced all of the above. We were stuck on Splash for a good 40 minutes and I think we were the only people on the ride and it was dark and scary. We thought they forgot about us but eventually a CM came and evac'd us.

I've had the COP breakdown several times. And also had UOE break down at the end so that the CM had to give the "brain power" answer on behalf of Ellen.

Getting stuck with all you WDW Magic people on Spaceship Earth, Universe of Energy on the Spaceship Earth meet, and stuck forever on Dinosaur at Wild Decade were both just about the funniest breakdown's anybody could have!
:ROFLOL:

Seriously, as soon as this July 4th heat-n-crowds goes away, we need to have another meet!

Nothing like being a member of "Club 101" for the Spaceship Earth meet! :ROFLOL: That was a fun weekend! Sorry I missed the Wild Decade meet!

What do you mean you missed your EE FastPass?

Splash

We were on splash during the fireworks and the smoke caused the fire alarms to go off.

Is that common? the CM said it was, but in dozens of night trips, it hasnt happened to me before.

When we visited the parks in May, 2 of the people in our group had never been on Dinosaur before, so we all hop on and towards the end of the ride, it seemed to be going slower than I remembered, and then we get into the light tunnel where they say, "They're not gonna make it, they're not gonna make it!" and the ride stops and all the lights go off, it is silent for about 2 seconds, when my friend who had never been on the ride whispers, "did we not make it?" I laughed hysterically...

hahahah that had me laughing so hard!

I been stuck on Space which is cool when they turn the lights on, stuck on Splash when someone got out of the ride, and stuck in the haunted mansion. No funny stories though.

Just as an FYI, you can use your fastpass anytime in the day after the first time listed. So if it's 10am-11am and you're trapped on a ride until 11:05, you can still use the fastpass.

I have actually had two or three funny breakdowns happen to me.

The best was about 8 years ago on The Great Movie Ride. It was my little cousins first time to Disney and she was a little nervous about going on EVERY ride so we had to keep telling her that it would not be a scarey ride. :lookaroun

Well the ride was having some technical difficulties and we got stuck right underneath the alien that keeps coming out of the space ship for about 10 min. every time it came out, she would scream on top of her lungs that she wanted to go home and would try to hide underneath the seat. lol. Once we finally got out of there, the ride seemed to be running smoothly untill we got to the Wizard of Oz scene, well my cousin was really scared of the Munchkins AND the Wicked Witch of the West. We were in the front row so, the tour guide kept trying to calm her down and told her that it would be over soon. (Boy was she wrong) After the scene was over, the doors in front of us would not open so that we could get out of the scene and the tour guide told us that if the green light was not on, they were not allowed to move foward. So we had to sit there for five more min. while the munchking kept on singing and the whole time, my little cousin was screaming away. :brick:

It was a horrible experience then, but now it is one of the first funny stories we look back on every holiday together. :sohappy:

Argh, that's what happened to me 18 years ago! It was awful! When I was on my PI, my co-workers went on a mission to get me over my terror of that scene  I didn't even know there was an Indiana Jones scene in GMR until then because my eyes were shut and my ears plugged still!

The one time we were on TOT and our friend Erika was riding with me and my sister. We were in the library listening to the video and at the end where they say "and this elevator travels directly to...." our friend Erika says A GIFT SHOP! And then we were on TOT and at the end we got stuck in the dark for a good 3-4 min. and she was like "ummm anyone have a flashlight?" Another time was this past trip and I rode single riders on RNRC. At the end we were waiting in the "VIP" section for a while. They guy next to me said jokingly "oh now it goes backwards." We both laughed. Then the girl behind us said, "oh what happens now?" And her mom said, "well, I just heard it goes backwards." We both were hysterical!! :p

Just last week my fiance and I were on Dinosaur and I stopped. It was my first trip and therefore first time on the ride so I was scared enough as it was! We were in the front of the car with a large group of women who were all together in the seats behind us. The car stopped JUST as the car entered the tunnel where the Carnotaurus runs down the tunnel at you in the dark, and the car just kept rocking back and forth with the (really loud) sound effects continuing over the top! The noise and movement were hilarious to us, but even funnier were the women screaming! One or two of them just lost it like they were on "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition"! Of course, the dinosaur screaming down at us, then jumping out at us, then the Carnotaurus head coming out at us, did nothing to quiet them down :ROFLOL:
