Funny Photos on Rides

I just returned from WDW a couple of weeks ago and while there I started thinking of creative things a person could do when it comes time to getting your photo taken on a ride. I don't mean anything indecent, just funny stuff. For example, I'd like to go on ToT with a martini glass and cigarette looking like I hadn't a care in the world meanwhile everyone else is screaming their heads off.

Am I crazy here or has anyone else thought of doing something like this too? If I lived closer to WDW and had an annual pass, I'd try it.

My father (age 72) always pinches his nose and puts his other hand in the air, like he is jumping into the water when going down the big hill on Splash Mountain. Silly!

A few days ago me and my friends got bored so we went over to the kingdom. For out splash mountain picture we all took out our cell phones and acted like we were so bored. The picture is awesome. My friend Scott was in the back of the boat pretending that his cell phone had no signal so he had his arm up like he was looking for a signal.
We hopped over to MGM and for the ToT picture we all took out cameras and were sitting sideways taking pictures of each other as if we were at home. That one turned out pretty good too.

The funny picture thing has kind of become a tradition in my family. We do everything from making stupid faces to the Dr Evil pose :drevil: . The last picture we purchased was on TT where myself and my 2 older daughters were doing the hear no evil speak no evil see no evil thing.

After years of a tradition of buying our picture from Splash Mountain, they all began to look the same. So one year I got creative...

Usually, it's only our immediate family of 4 on our trips. But a few years ago, there were 7 of us (cousins and my uncle this time)...enough to fill a boat!

So I coordinated/syncronized our motions during the trip down the hill..

2 people in the first 3 rows, then just my uncle (who is 6'5 haha) in the back row, sitting in the middle of the seat. The people in the first three rows put their arms out to the side of the log closest to them (does that make sense) and then I told my uncle to stick his hands above his head in a "swan dive" motion.

It is an ADORABLE picture! Something we always remember and laugh when we see it hanging in the family room!

Ha! Those are all good. I hope to go with a big enough group someday for a group effort. The last time on ToT, I just sat up real straight and cheesed really big showing most of my teeth like I was having my 3rd grade school picture made. What was funnier is that not knowing exactly when the picture was coming, I had to sit there and cheese like that during the entire drop sequence just to ensure I smiled at the right time.

I only started doing this on a class trip to Dollywood. In one of them, everyone in our car on the Tenessee Tornado pretended we were dead. We had our head to the side and our tongues hanging out.

Locations of cameras?

Can anyone point me in the direction of a listing of where the cameras are on the different rides? I know that RnRC's is on the launch, right? Is TOT's on the very first drop?

Timothy, welcome

ToT`s is at the top of the dropshaft - outside of the doors behind the neon sign (you can see it clearly.) You used to get a false drop of a few feet and your picture was taken then - with the 4th drop profile I`m not sure if this happens still.

TOT- not always the first drop. Camera is at the highest point of the ride
Splash Mountain- About 1/3 the way down the big drop
TT- before you crash into the wall @ the barrier test
Buzz- last scene with Zurg (you will see the flash before you enter the scene)
RnRC-As soon as you enter the tunnel at the launch
Dinosaur- Next to last scene with the carnatorous. It will be on your right

When I first rode Dinosaur w/my roommates, they'd never been on it before. So as we hit the Carnotaurus, the picture was taken of the three of them cowering against me (in all of my petite glory-5'3"), and me flexing my muscles

One of my favorite pictures isn't even of me posing! It was on Splash, and my friends & I are screaming excitedly...while the dad in the front is giving his two daughters bunny ears :)

In 2002 I went down for Magic Music Days because I'm in the color guard.
Well our colors are maroon and gold and our jackets look like "bell Hops" so we all got in ToT and wore our jackets. Now our guard's good luck movie is "superstar" so if any of you have seen it, you know they do a funny dance in the cafeteria. All of us in the pic did syncronized poses from Superstar. It was great! The Cm's even let us skip the line to get another pic as well as unroping certain areas outside and inside the building to get "scary bellhop" pics. haha

Thanks a lot! That will help on our trip this September.

One night during an E-ride night, it was pouring outside so no one was on Splash Mountain, I rode it a few times in a row, by myself, and they just kept letting me go, I was thinking I had to come up with some idea for a good pic...I had on one of those Yellow Mickey ponchos, so as i was going thru the ride, i pulled my arms in side, and as I was going up the last hill, I pulled my head down inside, and propped the hood so it would blow in the wind, so in the pics, you see the hood open like there should be a head inside and the sides up, like somones arms should be there.

On Splash Mountain I like to take a park map and then my friends or family and I hold it up and pretend to read it and act like we are lost or looking for something in the park. We will point to the map, out to the castle or something goofy like that. Then after the picture takes you can hold up the map and it blocks some water and you don't get as wet!

On Dinosaur we would look to the left as the picture is being taken to your right. Everyone on the vehicle was looking scared at the Carnotaurus, but we would be off looking the opposite way without a care in the world. It worked better with the old photo holders that the pics came in cause it had the cut out of the Carnotaurus so you could get the effect better afterwards. On a side note does anyone else think they should take your picture at the end when the Carnotaurus' head pops out and you drop below it? I think people in those pictures would be hilarious cause the wind would whip the hair around and it is scarier then the actual photo location.

If I get the front bench on Splash Moutain, I always pretend to sleep. But, I like to drape the entire upper half of my body over the front of the log, leaning on the front, with one arm outstretched. Always gets a laugh from the crowd at Splashdown Photos. On the others I just pretend to sleep, since there are no others that really give you the full chance to drape yourself as well as Splash.

In case you're wondering, this all originated with the original JII, when Dreamfinder shows you the movie camera towards the end. My dad did it once, and pretty soon the whole family had to find more creative ways to "fall asleep."

On Splash my daughter and I were the only ones on the log, front row, and we took our pic sleeping with out head to the side on our hands, It came out so cute, that we bought it. On Tower of Terror we do the ususal, bunny ears, faces, and we take out or digital cameras and take a pic of the camera taking a pic of us. Talking on cell phones are big too. Once when there were three of us, we did hear no evil, see no evil and speak no evil.

On RNR we just make faces or clean hand jestures. Not too much you can do on that ride. Dinasour, same thing.

SOmetimes we plan it out. LOL
