I'm taking my grandchildren to Disney in January and am planning on taking my twin granddaughters (7 years old) to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique at Cinderella Castle and was wondering if there was something I could do that was special for my grandson (4 years old).

Thanks for any help/suggestions.

I'm sorry for being negative, I know that, were I a 4 year old boy, I wouldn't dig any kind of makeover. But I didn't like any sort of haircut. And now I'm bald. Wishes DO come true!

But Barbara the OP knows Her grandson better than I do (probably anyway :D ) and this might be the sort of thing he'd like.

Barbara, is it just you and the kids? Or is there any other grown up who can handle the grandson while you're with the girls? Because heck, you're AT the Magic Kingdom, so just being able to go on rides with just one other grownup, without stinky girls around for a while, might be a "treat" enough for a 4 year old boy.

There is a Pirate Cruise that is offered at the Grand Floridian on certain days of the week.
My sons did this last summer & they loved it!:D
I believe you have to be 4 yrs. old to participate.
My sons & daughter will be doing it again in Sept.
Also, if your grandson likes Stitch, there is a character breakfast offered at the Polynesian Resort.
We will be doing this character meal for the 1st time in Sept.
Also, for your grandaughters, there is a Princess Tea Party that is offered at the Grand Floridian.
My daughter did it last summer - it was great!:D
I am taking her to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Sept.:king:
Hope this info. helps!
Have a great trip!

you could also take him to the toy store in downtown disney and he could make his own lightsaber.

my son loved that.

I could be totally wrong, but I think the situation might be the OP is looking for something she can do with/for her grandson at the same time the girls are getting their makeovers, and there might not be another guardian to watch the girls while she's out with the boy (or vice versa). Sorry in advance if I'm wrong.

Don't forget to ask the Monorail CM's if they can ride up front with the driver. You can go along too. It is pretty cool and they get a official Monorail co-pilot license, I believe. Nothing like free "extras".

As far as paid, do the Pirate and Princess party one evening if they do it again next year in Jan. He might like that too.

Hope this helps.

Honestly, I'm 23 and I got the "Cool Dude" look over the Christmas season while I was still working there. My roommate and I went to get our haircut and they added the mickey shape, colored gel, and "pixie dust" at no charge. They have been doing it for years over at the barber shop on main street. I would take him there instead of the BBB. It's on the left hand side of the square near the fire department and the emporium.

Check out the pics:

I agree with slappy, my son just turned 6 and would much rather have some special 1 on 1 time without his sister or cousins in place of a boy "makeover".

Every night at Fort Wildernes (weather permitting), there is a free campfire singalong with Chip & Dale, followed by an outdoor movie. You can buy smores fixins and enjoy the night that way. Think he'd like that? Might also be good ona night where your granddaughters and the other grownups might want to take advantage of extra magic hours in the park, but a 4 year old might not last that long.

Also, if the rest of the family has trouble getting moving in the morning, you could wake up early & take him to MK the day they have morning Extra Magic Hours. It gives resort guests an extra hour on some of the most popular rides before the lines get too overwhelming.

We make it a point to go to the barber shop on mainstreet. If you get a cut and decorate which is the same as the cool dude it is 14 if you just get the decorations it was cheaper I think somewhere around 5 to 7 dollars. My one son looks forward to the haircut there. Now he says we have to go to Disney just for a haircut.

Details on the "Cool Dude" service at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique:

The Cool Dude option for boys includes hair styles that come with colored hair gel, confetti and Mickey stencil. The price is $10.00 (no tax on this service.)

This has become a very popular offering at the Boutique for families with little boys, even for those without little girls.

Details on the Disney's Pirate Adventure:

Children wear pirate bandannas and follow clues to search Bay Lake and the Seven Seas Lagoon for buried treasure. Following these clues and the Pirate's trail, they sail to many exotic "ports of call" (Resort Marinas) to collect treasure. During the voyage, the children enjoy a reading of "The Legend of Gasparilla" (a real Florida Pirate). At the final port of call, children have lunch and split up the "buried treasure."

NOTE: At least 2 Cast Members accompany the group. Children must be potty trained (no pull ups). This offering is only available to children ages 4-10, no exceptions.

This adventure takes place on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM and costs $28.17 plus tax.

Similar adventures are available at these other Resort locations:

Albatross Treasure Cruise - Disney's Beach & Yacht Club Resorts
Island of the Caribbean Pirate Cruise - Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort
Bayou Pirate Adventure - Disney's Port Orleans Resorts

My son was almost 4 when we went in Dec. His sister and cousins were getting their hair done at BBB and he didn't want anything to do with it. At first he thought he did till he saw what they would do (had a pic to show him). He's a hat kind of boy and when I said he couldn't wear one he was like "nope, don't want it then". I ended up buying him something special instead. His sister didn't have a problem with it since she got her special time getting her hair done.
