Full POV video ride through of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Right, but at this point, I think they only had 1 train on the track at the time. There were I think only reports of multiple trains starting today. I feel like if there is a train there in load, the stop at the cottage might be extended a touch. It's all speculation of course, we'll see once people start getting on the ride for real.
The only option is to slow down the ride as it is pulled into the station. Because to stop the train and allow the back to see what the front saw, would require the ride to be half way into the unloading station. OH WELL... I'll be happy somewhere in the middle :D

I kind of felt the same. The mine scene is truly fantastic, well worth the ride. But that cottage scene felt lacking, almost distant. If the windows weren't as blurred out and the train slowed a little bit more as it passes by the cottage, the scene would feel a bit warmer. But I love the witch at the end and that elements of the old Snow White ride are incorporated into this one.

I think many miss the point of the cottage. You are not supposed to see a lot of detail in that scene (partly because they are re-used characters from the old ride that don't match the new technology). The cottage is just a set-up for the evil queen. The train stops at the cottage. You think, "Oh what's going on in there? I can see some dancing, they are all having a good time." It seems like at traditional "Happily ever after" story. Then the train pulls into the station and you see the evil queen and you realize, "Oh that's right, there is more to the story."

I find it funny that many people don't like Journey of the Little Mermaid because it tries to tell the cliff notes version of the whole story. Now, with 7DMT they try to do great theming on one part of the story, and the early complaints are it doesn't have enough story arc.

Im sorry but I don't agree. The theming of the mountain is impeccable. It looks wonderful for what it is.
I agree it looks wonderful. Im not taking anything away from what they did. I just dont understand why they dont have any little extra touches as you ride through the forest area. I watched the pov video several times and just dont see much aside from the stuff on the lift hill. No animals in the forest, no birds on the trees, just forest. It looks good, it could look much more magical though, imo.

Let me be clear, the ride looks great and will have long lines, and I look forward to riding it. But when I compare it to the timeless rides in MK such as POTC, Splash or HM that have a story and theme from start to finish, I think 7DMT will fall short of deserving to be put in the same category especially when you consider the amount of time it took to build it. The mine scene and the cottage look very very good and have a ton of detail, but the outside coaster is just that, a coaster with not much theme to go along with it aside from the trees and plants. The AA's in the mine scene are great and they have projection faces and all the high tech jazz one would wish for, but that doesnt make up for a lack of story and small details that actually create an environment in an attraction that make you feel as if you are in the story. Thats why I used examples like POTC and HM or Splash. They take you away to a different time and place. Not just for one scene and then a few minutes later another scene, You never leave the story. Maybe after I ride it I will feel different, I doubt it, but Ill wait and see.

I applaud WDI for the job they did. New FL is complete. Its nice, I will enjoy it as many others will, but I also think its a reminder that imagineers with real vision such as Coates, M. Davis, Gracey, Hench and others are gone. Those are the men and woman who created the WDW that we all love and continue to visit, the current imagineers are keeping it alive, but I think they are a far cry from the originals.

That's why I enjoy watching it halfway through and then suddenly just turning it off. Extra fun when you're with people who actually haven't seen the movie of which there are probably a lot more than you think.

Well the original SWSA didn't exactly tell the entire story either. A) it was told out of sequence and B). it ended with the witch pushing a boulder on your head. At Disneyland it is still mostly this way to this day. Not exactly a new phenomena.

All complaints aside, how gorgeous is that cottage from the front view? I seriously felt like I was in the movie. I'm a bit disappointed with the cottage scene itself but I think I'll reserve judgment until I'm on the ride. Doc gave me chills at the end...

I wasn't a big fan of that ride.

I'm withholding judgement on the new one until I ride it. But it feels like a very odd ending. Not what I would have done.

I don't recall me complaining about the lack of story arc, but if that's how it came across, it's not how I feel at all. I'm just saying that it's going to be hard to appreciate the scene, especially if you're in the back zipping past. I do get that they want it to feel like you're peering in, but it still seems distant. I do love the "to be continued" vibe of the ending. It fleshes out the ride more while paying homage to the old ride.

Every attraction based off of a movie that tells the entire story is fantastic (looking right at you again MERMAID).

That ride has its flaws. I'll take 7 Dwarfs over Mermaid based on the video. Still find the non-ending of 7 Dwarfs to be an anti-climax.

Everyone in unison, "NO WITCH< BAD SHOW".... then, Oh the witch is at the end, "BAD SHOW"...

It's perfect where it is. EVERYONE knows the story, it's piece of a tale. And at the end it's the UH-OH look out Snow White... There is no need to tell the entire story. If you go that route, where is Prince Charming?

:) Call me a Pixie Head or whatever, but I have to say I'm very happy with this outcome. It is a wonderfully themed ride, the AA's look great and. I love the shock ending with the witch. Is it the best thing ever, no I don't clam it is. Is it the best ride at MK? No. They could have built Horizon 2.0 here, but they didn't they choose to build a family coaster mixed with dark ride themed around the 7 Dwarfs and did they do this? Yes they did, and they did it very well. A great addition to Fantasyland and MK.

Good point. Where is he?

I think
Well, that's a cute little ride. A bit short on run time, but the animatronics are impressive. Not sure I need to wait more than 30 minutes or waste a Fastpass+ for it, but it's cute.

I think 2 minutes and 45 seconds is a very good run time for a coaster. Any longer and Fantasy Forest will be filled with undigested specialty drinks and regurgitated French Cuisine.

Did Toad or the oriental SWSA give us a good ending? Not really we died, not much of an ending in those cases.

So because other rides ended less than satifactorily we should just accept that in all rides? Gotcha.

I'm judging this ride on its own merits. And I won't fully make up my mind until I experience it myself. But based on the video, the end leave me wanting. Glad you guys like it so much. Opinions differ sometimes.
