Frozen ride replacing Maelstrom?

I really do hope more thought is being given to frozen than a cheap tie in with maelstrom. Seriously a billion dollar film and their most lucrative property and the best they can do is tie it in with Maelstrom? I can only hope this is wrong because if not the stench of corporate stupidity is so strong.

The ride is the pavilion, after that is frozenified (tm) the only thing Norwegian is going to be the bakery...
First, he made it clear that it wasn't an issue of the pavilion no longer feeling like it represented Norway. He instead declared that it was a fact that they were going to remove all references to Norway and rename the entire pavilion 'Allendelle'. He was asked about this three times and didn't waver from his assertion.

Second, if you believe that the only thing to the Norway pavilion is Maelstrom and a bakery, you haven't been paying attention.

And your only response to any opposing views is lame insults.
I could use creative insults if you'd like... he's insulting people by accusing them of , insinuating they have no reason to be upset.

He clearly, doesn't grasp the concept of world showcase. Either that or he just lacks any desire to have continuity in the parks were they need it most.

Oppose my views all you like, but if you're suggesting that the majority of people here are stupid, you will get insulted.

If think that it's unreasonable to be upset by the rumor when we now know that it is just a rumor. Perhaps when wdw1974 returns, he will have something substantial to share that we can either be happy or mad about.

Guys, for the sake of discussion let's say an owl came by and told me that Norway will remain as-is and that the Frozen ride is just going to be Fiesta Tour'd into Norway.

Could you clarify? Do you mean just adding some Frozen characters to Maelstrom (I don't really see how that would work) or still changing the ride to a full Frozen one, but it being clearly a part of the Norway pavilion?

(or they can just make the film at the end based on Frozen. Would probably get a heck of a lot more people to watch it.)

Also, for the sake of discussion, let's say the same owl has also advised that I have real, honest to god, IMAGINEERS reading my posts! I am so flattered that I am receiving so much attention! I feel like these honours are mainly reserved for @WDW1974!

If Imagineers truly are reading this: Please don't remove Maelstrom. It's a great ride! If you want to add Frozen to Epcot/Norway, build an additional new ride. It's far better for guests to have more rides and attractions than to replace existing ones. Epcot could certainly use more rides, especially with the obviously FP+ issues resulting in tiering.

This is my feeling too. I'm not a fan of the current treatment of EPCOT, but it's almost a bigger injustice to Frozen. I know a brand new attraction would take a lot longer than repurposing an existing one, but Frozen isn't going to fade overnight. It's worth waiting. They could build a full Frozen E-ticket dark ride plus a proper meet and greet and maybe a dedicated restaurant. It could be in MK or even DHS. I'm sure this ride will be wildly popular anyway, but it's not exactly a long ride and there are limitations around what they could do to the physical buildings.

They why is anyone upset that people would believe it's more than a rumor?

Heck, if they really must add Frozen to Epcot, build such a mini-Frozen land in the space between Norway and Mexico (ride/shop/M&G) themed specifically to Arendelle and leave Norway alone.

Yeah, I've still got this strange sense that they're [the Owls] not what they seem, though... :cautious:
...
The OWLS! David Lynch re-theme to American Adventure we need more than Frozen re-theme in Norway...

That could be an answer, but since Arendelle is a fictitious place it wouldn't really fit in World Showcase. If given the choice between the current rumor and your idea I would take yours hands down, but I'd still prefer to keep WS as is and have Frozen in another park.

Because a place inspired by Norway is not the same as the actual Norway. That would be like saying all of Disney's animated films are perfect adaptations of the original works that inspired them, which they aren't.
None of the countries are perfect representations of the actual places. In fact, if you wanted accurate, you never would have had maelstrom.

I would keep it part of "Norway", but just have it as an attraction under that pavilion. I wouldn't have it on the map as an Arendelle country/pavilion.

But that's just me.

Ohh, I see! I had your point confused for a while, but that clarifies your reaction to the idea that there might not actually be a ride--They're obviously disrespecting the movie, if they don't completely retheme that entire section of their own park to pay homage to it!
I misinterpreted, you see, and thought you were sticking up for the park, when you were in fact do-or-die'ing for the movie, and letting the rest of Epcot's theme and design go hang.

...I'm sorry if I questioned the sincerity of your park fanhood.

That's actually not a bad idea if Frozen absolutely must be inserted into Norway. Indeed, its something which could have been done already and cheaply (edited clips from the movie) to capitalize on the film's success until a proper attraction can be developed in an appropriate setting.

and on a totally unrelated note, did anyone see Dilbert today?
