Those fluid animatronics can't have been developed for a cheap reskin like this, I'm thinking we're getting an early glimpse of technology developed for Pandora.

They certainly weren't cheap. Suddenly I understand the budget a bit more.

In watching the video I was trying to place where everything was and is, I'm assuming the S turn is where the trolls are now leading past the old entrance and then up the hill

Can't wait to ride this. I was never a big fan of Maelstrom, so for me this is a massive improvement in almost every aspect. I love the look of the new queue, the AA's look spectacular, great use of screens as support to those AA's, and the story seems fine to me.

I think they are much better, Kongs are nowhere near the level that these are. I mean Kong does have those awesome bats that move their wings lol.

I was a doubter for sure, and I will always think it was the wrong location (This would have been an amazing addition to the Magic Kingdom) , but it looks wonderful... Really beautifully done and coming in at a full 5 minutes...it's about the same length as mermaid but looks infinitely better. It is much more beautiful than I expected...

Pretty crazy to see where they've how far they've gone in regards to mobile animatronics when you go from Splash Mountain's "Million Dollar Bunny" to to the Olaf in the first scene of this attraction...

The AA's are simply the best....I'll take that trophy for best AA in a theme park ride back Kong, thank you!

Most surprised they were able to lengthen the ride! Makes all the difference

Can argue that the ride is too short or has too poor of capacity or is located in the wrong place... but for what they had to work with, I think they did an excellent job! The animitronics are some of the best yet. The first segment of this ride looks particularly well done... makes me quite hopeful for Na'vi River Journey!

i do think NRJ will be on this scale

If I remember right after reading one of his interviews, the lead on this ride worked, trained under Tony Baxter before he left.

michele den dulk, I know I misspelled his name sorry, is the designer of this and deserves much applause. almost seems like an attraction that would be at the park he came from in Europe.

By the time I get back to the World, wait times should be more reasonable. I rather like it. The animatronics are very good, the queue is lovely and the whole area blends fairly well with Norway. I have relatives in Norway visiting right now and it looks like the pics they post on Facebook. On the down side, the ride is short, the capacity is crappy and it doesn't belong in World Showcase. Other than that, a solid attraction thematically.
