Frozen at Disney's Hollywood Studios for the summer?

After watching the nightmare at Epcot for the M&G I, for one, am glad they left it out of these plans. At the MK it is much more organized, leave it there.

I don't think anyone is saying there shouldn't be a meet and greet at MK. I think what everyone is saying is there should be more than one meet and greet option, so that wait times can go down across the board.

I was unclear. I meant don't add a hastily shoehorned in M&G, like was done at Epcot, to DHS.

You don't meet any other princesses at DHS either, not usually.

Fireworks was approved so long as it was in the same scope as SWW. Therefore the same closures will be in place on Pixar Ave each night.

I don't know why they picked Labor Day weekend as the end of the run. I do know the stage has to come down at some point and stay down for a few weeks in order to comply with Reedy Creek regulations for temporary structures.

This was part of the reason the Villains Party was picked for the end of August when the stage would still be in place.

Which reminds me, yes...Frozen will be in place up til 8/22, then after the park closes on 8/22 it all comes out & the Villains stuff is rolled in. Then after the Villains party on the 23rd the Villains stuff goes away and the Frozen stuff goes back in until 9/1.

Then the stage will come down for a few weeks only to be put back together at the end of September in time for the ToT 10 Miler

This is really odd to me. I hope no wee ones are traumatized on Aug 23 if their parents inadvertently think Anna and Elsa will be at DHS. Can you IMAGINE??? :p  :angelic:

When I was driving down 95 I passed a guy and a snowman riding a sleigh pulled by a reindeer in the right lane just past this sign. Now I know where they were going and why;)

I agree with the others on this thread... It's kinda mind boggling to see that Anna and Elsa won't be meeting at the Studios.
I am soooo excited! This reminds me of Disney in the 90s where there was always a big thing when new movies came out. I can't wait to be there! I hope the firework show is amazing!
Yes! DHS was always the park where Disney promoted its new characters and films! Remember Doug Live? The Mulan parade? Ahh... The nineties..

They still kind of do, just not in the same way. They had a Lone Ranger preview when I was there, there were a ton of advertisements throughout the Backlot Tour for new films/games, and they had that whole Monsters U party.

I kind of baffles me that they don't utilize the park more for that purpose. It would seem to me a no-brainer.

These events at DHS ongoing through the summer are fantastic. TDO should be applauded for getting this done so quickly.

We often complain that they aren't doing enough. This is the first time I can remember when they've actually been proactive.

Then they go half-assed and don't include a meet and greet? The whole park is being turned into "FROZENLAND" but hey, don't expect to see the characters there.

Stupid, just stupid.

Maybe since JK Rowling won't allow a Potter meet and greet, they should shut down both Potter lands?

MK will be the place for the meet and greet, while DHS will be a Frozen summer party. I think it works to help spread the Frozen crowds out.

Say what you will but I really do applaud TDO for adding entertainment to this park. Sure some of it's a redressing of their typical summer entertainment formula (DJ, Mulch Sweat and Shears, etc) but it'll be exciting to have the cavalcade with Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff, the show in the Premiere Theatre, and the fireworks. Those three things alone would have been fine by me, so I view everything else as nice added bonuses.

I dont think TDO had much choice in the matter, I think this is being forced on them from Burbank.

To be fair, I wouldn't attend an HP meet and greet unless they hired the film cast.
I'm with you there. I would maybe check out the owl or the rat if they had them, but I don't like M&Gs with "human" characters. It's just strange to me. I've never done a princess one, but we did Peter Pan and Wendy on my last trip and it was just off.

I don't understand why there isn't more of demand for an OLAF meet and greet. My daughter likes the princesses, but for the chance to do anything with OLAF would encourage another visit back
I imagine many people would want to speak with Olaf, not just have him mime.
