Friar's Nook, Tropical Refreshments? Nope!

After visiting Disneyland and seeing all their healthy foods like fruits and smooties and such...it makes me sad that we don't have more of that in WDW. Because of the heat I am constantly looking for something cool to munch. I mean all of america has gone the more health concious route...COME ON WDW! You can EASILY make things Disney themed. Remember the old orange juice with donald on it?

My thoughts exactly! :D

Because thats what was previously reported to be the theme on this website... I didn't think it made sense either...

Be sure to continue to shoot the messenger in typical WDWMagic fashion!

Meanwhile, here's the thread:

And here's a quote:

"Located in Fantasyland, across from Pooh's Playful Spot, next to Mrs. Potts' Cupboard, in the Magic Kingdom®, Friar's Nook offers tropical refreshments with outdoor seating. "

don't blame me, blame disney. The same description can be found on company owned websites.. Misinformation at it's finest! Hot dogs are NOT tropical! :)

I didn't see the thread. Most of the other locations have kept a similar menu so I didn't expect this one to change.

I rarely get anything to eat at the MK unless it's at Pecos or Cosmic Rays, however the last time I did get something was a order of McD fries from this location.

the biggest food dissapointment i've had in a while from WDW was at the columbia harbor house, just across from HM in liberty square.

they used to have a ham sandwich w/ a broccoli coleslaw on top, and it went great w/ honey mustard.... it was SOO good, and upon my return during a recent trip i come to find they have done away with the sandwich... why would they do that???

Yup, that sandwich was great. They probably got rid of it because it was different, and good.

Welcome to the new direction of WDW food.

Please.

Fantasyland has always had basic counter service fare, dating back to Lancelot Pizza and now hot dogs.

I'm sure those with children are lamenting the lack of couscous with a pomegranate reduction, but somehow we will solider on.

It's just a small example of the overall lack of quality counter service resort wide.

You can have hotdogs on the menu, just give me something that anyone over 7 will enjoy.

I saw it tonight...it looked SO random. Why friar tuck? I mean hey Robin Hood is one of my favorite movies, but why use a random sidekick character from the 70's? I swear kids today hardly know who he is. I mean at least change it back to Lumiere's. Then you are sticking with the beauty and the beast theme...super strange choice.

I guess they wanted a name appropriate to what they would be serving. There aren't many other Fryer-type names out there.

There was a stand in AK between Flame Tree and Asia that served some pretty good and hearty chicken wings a year or so ago. That lasted all of a month.

And now in the same area there's one stand that actually has one item on the menu - corn dog nuggets. And another stand near Flights of Wonder that offers nothing but corn dog nuggets and WDW's abominable chicken nuggets.
