Another great option!
I carry a collapsible cup and straw in case I am offered some chocolate milkshake.

Speaking of world class service…. Check this out. The lady kept telling people to “stand back” and “wait back there” - several customers complained about her tone and how she spoke to them. Not really her fault, she’s set up to fail.

Even though I stood back and waited properly by the time I got my drink the ice was melted into my drink so it clearly had been waiting for some time.

Yep.

This bundle comes with 12 straws, two cleaners, and its own bag starting at just $6.99. The other colors cost a few bucks more. Either way, they’re a great deal. Feel free to buy them elsewhere outside of Amazon as well.

Anyways, back to the original topic of the thread…

I always get a plastic straw put in my cup at any drive-thru or fast food place I visit. I don't have an AP to Disneyland any longer, so I don't have to put up with that.

You are using your own metal straws??? That seems like an exhausting and silly waste of time and resources to cure a problem that doesn't exist in this country.

Meanwhile, this summer in Guatemala an American charity is working down there to install trash fences on Guatamala's rivers to prevent thousands of tons of plastic trash being flushed into the ocean every single day it rains...

These CM's are set up to fail. But it's also apparent TDA is not hiring the right people any longer. You can't bark orders at customers paying hundreds of dollars to be there, that's simply unacceptable for an employee to act like that. And if she's having a bad day or her dog just died or something, it's up to the supervisor to pull her to a backstage role and let a normal CM interact with the customers out front.

It's a failure at many levels of the operation, from front-line to management. That's the real problem there.

This is their Mobile Order Pickup operation??? It looks like something a 20 year old supervisor slapped together in 10 minutes. It does not look like something set up by a well-funded hospitality company. With a cheap plastic bin holding the straws. I'm immersed!

Exactly. The photo was to show the setup btw, not the CM. I agree she is set up to fail with this operation.

But yeah…. This mobile order setup is really bad.

In general mobile order doesn’t seem to save any time now unless you roll the dice and click “I am here” while you’re a good 10 minutes away lol.

I'm still appalled by the lack of theming, just drag a table over away from a guest (I hope they were done). If they can't build a properly themed counter, at the very least throw on a long tablecloth.

I recommend purchasing metal straws, if you’re that bothered by paper ones. I have a traveling set of metal straws, and they’re great.
Hate the metal "taste" and feel of them hitting my teeth. It's like being in a dentist's chair. lol I don't care for the silicone ones either. They just feel weird.

The compostable ones were just fine and as mentioned, I hope they keep those.

Yes, that was my first thought too.

It's just so cheap and temporary looking. No one has cared about the details. They're so stupid now they are using the plastic liner from an abandoned condiment station plopped on the table for straws.

Like you say, even some basic linens would go a long way in making this look and feel "premium" or "World Class".

But even that minor detail escapes them, assuming they have anyone left on staff that could identify a detail like that. 🤔
