I did the wild Africa trek tour the other week at AK. During that I learned about the different kinds of research they do there. A lot of what is learned from this research is put into the real world to help protect different species. It was quite interesting.

Exactly!
Like I said in an earlier post, keeping a small percentage of animals captive is a necessary evil. We need to learn about them, and it offers a chance to educate the public.

Think of all of the animals and even species that have been saved. That likely would not be possible without the scientific research done by these organizations.

The California condor being a prime example.....

There's a similar thread in the Seaworld forum. By the same OP.
You make it sound like a bad thing....

Some are interested in sound systems, and they'll have one thread discussing whether the sound of UNI's Spiderman is adequate and another about Wishes. Some are interested in characters, and they have eight character threads about four parks. And some want to discuss animals.

This topic SHOULD be closed i mean WHAT GOOD does it do there still gonna be ignorant at us at whatever we say about the good that is Disney giving care to the dolphins.
New rule. You are not allowed to use the word "ignorant" in an incoherent babbling sentence with no punctuation. And what's with advocating for thread closures? If you don't like it, just read something else instead.

Yes
Gives new meaning to K9.... Can you imagine being the officer whose partner is a 8-10 Florida alligator?

However, as a Nole, I have a fundamental problem supporting gaytors.....the two legged variety.....

As long as the perps stay out of the water

Save the imaginary mutant Arachnids that dress in Spandex!

See, @Princess Kaylee I'm a journalist. A journalist in Orlando. When Blackfish came out, it was our job to find the truth. We talked to legit Marine Biologist, former Orca Trainers, and whale rescuers from Hubbs.

Blackfish is an agenda based lie designed to anger the ill informed yet passionate activists. (That's as polite as I can make it).

Please tell me, though, that you also spoke with marine biologists at FMRI and FWS? Especially FWS since they are the agency responsible for the administration and enforcement of the MMA and would thus investigate any allegations of violations of the Act that could potentially impact Sea World's permits. An outside organization is always an excellent source of information.

FMRI staff work closely with staff at Sea World (it's a rather small close community, those marine biologists) and would probably be aware of issues through direct communications, professional organizations, list servs chatter, etc.

Absolutely. We deal with FWS all the time. And FMRI regularly also. We cover just about all the Manatee and Sea Turtle rescues and releases. I have also covered several beached whales where I get to see Hubbs-Sea World in action.

Good. What Hubbs-Sea World does on the non-show side of their operations is invaluable. However, if you are ever asked to witness a necropsy on a dead manatee, think twice ...unless you have a strong stomach. So did you ever tag along on the joint tagging done with TECO? That's when I realized just how strong a manatee's tail is when I watched one we were tagging and in the process of taking blood samples from flip our vet into the water - bet that's the last time he every stood on a manatee's tail....

Haha.

And I've been a news photog for 15 years. I have seen, and smelled, some pretty harsh stuff. A dead manatee ain't nothing.

I made the mistake of thinking since I had anatomy classes, witnessing a manatee necropsy would be a piece of cake. Man, was I so wrong - that fetal pig smelled like roses compared to that manatee...

I would also like to know if I slept through some sort of coronation where Kaylee was elevated to princess...or was this a self appointed thing?
Come on now. This is a Disney site. Where Lilliy's are renamed Empress and guys name themselves after steamships. Half the posters here are a Star Wars character or princess. We have more queens gathered together than a Manhattan theater costume exhibition visited by B.Th.'s exe's.
