Free Dining Plan for 2011?

Hi all!

I was just wondering if anyone knew of the chances of Disney offering their Free DDP discount in 2011. I know its sometimes done to spur people to visit during their slower months. I plan on going in February (week at the Boardwalk for two) and have been hoping for some discount incentive to be announced.

Anyway I'm sorry if this has been posted before, Im having trouble of finding some posts related to stuff going on in 2011. Thanks again!

They very rarely do free dining for the general public in the first half of the year. It's usually room discounts or something like buy 4 get 3/2.

Anyway, we won't be seeing any discounts being offered for the first half of 2011 until after the room rates have been officially released for 2011, which won't be until later this month. And discounts for the first half of the new year usually come out towards the end of the current year, when Disney has a better idea of what their operating capacity is going to be like for the new year.

I don't know where you're from, but we have booked for May 2011 with free DDP. This was booked in the UK though and I know it differs a lot from the US deals.

An indication of if Disney is going to do free dining for any period of time in 2011 is in a few days when free dining starts for 2010 and what the bounceback offer is. If it is offered there is a pretty good chance, not definate that it will be offered to the public. FOr Americans it is normally only offered in the fall months through December.

For the first time since 1997 we will not be going to Disney this September. However, unless something goes horribly wrong we will be there next year. If there is a bounceback offer for next year in your room will you post it? That will give me hope for next year!

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that...I know how devastated my hubby and I would be if we had to skip our annual trip.

But at least the long wait will make your trip next year that much sweeter :sohappy:

It will seem very strange not to be there. We will be on vacation though but decided to take a cruise with some friends instead....what were we thinking? :hammer:

Yeah, and at least you won't be missing out on anything new (because there isn't anything, haha...well, maybe a restaurant or two, but no rides) But when you go in 2011, they should have quite a few new rides & refurbs up and running!

I'll know about the bounceback in 2 weeks when free dining for this year starts. A good hairy little friend of mine will be there with her son.

WOO HOO!! Please post as soon as you know anything! I can't wait til next years packages are released. We canceled dining ressies but not our reservations. I just wanted to reschedule for next year. If they don't come out soon I'll modify from package to room only 'til they are released. Just thinking about it is so exciting. Next year will be DD senior year so that will be the last Sept birthday trip for her for quite a while. She goes to a school that has a year round schedule so she's always out on break when we go....she won't have that once she starts college though....
