Yes that is correct. Marie

Thank you Marie!

I guess I'm going to have to crunch some numbers. I'm wondering how much a family of 4 would save in a value if they still have to buy 2 day tickets each.

Any ideas on when the AP discounts are coming out? I wonder will they be any better than the public discounts!?!

Hi Newfie, I havent heard anything for the AP Discounts. The Free Dining might still be a better deal at the Values even with the AP discounts and you can apply your two day ticket to a renewal of your AP. I can run some numbers and help you book whichever is the better deal for you. Just e mail me! Marie

Still no word on when but if they come out they might be at best 5% more than the GP offer. Also remember while you do have to outlay the cash for the tickets you don't loose any money on them as they hold their value for a future AP or ticket purchase.

Thanks! I didn't know that... I knew you could apply the cost of a one day ticket towards another AP... but for some reason I thought that a one day ticket was the limit!?! (Must have made that up in my head!?!)

You might be getting an email from me soon Marie... :animwink:

From what I understand as long as the ticket, pass, etc that you are upgrading to is more expensive then the one you have you are good to go. About the only notable exception is a ticket where one or more credits of a water park option has been used.

There are currently room only discounts open to the public - 30% off of values and moderates, 40% off of deluxe and deluxe villas, for the same travel dates as free dining, August 15 to October 2, and the value resorts are going for $58/night plus tax.

If I was to wager, if and when they release AP and Florida resident discounts, they would be in the neighborhood of $54-$56 per night. (if they are really having trouble filling rooms, we may see $49/night....)

Time will tell.

I agree Joe, I cant see it being much more than a 5%-10% increase for AP holders depending on how room availability is looking at that point. Marie

Hey Richard! I was looking for some other bit of info this morning but came across the ticket to pass upgrade rules (since we use that to our advantage sometimes). I'm pretty sure it was on WDW's website but I'm not 100% on that. My understanding is that to upgrade a MYW ticket to an AP the MYW ticket has to be completely unused. Like if you get there with a 7 day MYW ticket, use 3 days, have 4 days remaining, then decide you want to upgrade to the AP you can't apply the cost of the 4 remaining days as if it were a 4 day MYW. Makes sense since the price difference between a 7 day & 4 day MYW base ticket is like $10.

Detailed descriptions and rules:

http://allears.net/pl/ticket.htm#credpass

"Disney allows you to UPGRADE most park tickets to a longer Magic Your Way ticket, an Annual Pass (AP), a Premium Annual Pass (PAP) or a Season Pass for Florida Residents (SP) prior to using or within 14 days from first use for MYW tickets. They will take the entire price of the ticket you started using and deduct it from the cost of the new ticket"

Hi Sweetpea, I didnt think so. I believe that you can upgrade to an AP At any point. The part I am thinking that you may be thinking of is that if you have the Water Parks and more on your regular pass and have used one of the Water Park features, you must upgrade to a Premium AP. I havent ever had that particular case so I cant speak from personal experience on that one, but I have upgraded regular tickets without the Water Park option to renewal AP's several times. Marie

Sadly it ends a few days too early. We are going the 6th through the 13th. I wish there was something in that time frame. Anyone have any ideas if there will be something similiar at that time?

As DisneyJoe pointed out, that is not correct. You can upgrade the MYW Ticket at any point within 14 days of first use, but the AP will be effective starting the day the MYW ticket was first used. I upgraded my MYW ticket ion September for my birthday, but didn't do so until the last day of my trip. The entire value of my ticket was applied to the AP cost, and I only owed the difference.

From what I can tell, these two deals are combined! The quote I got from Disney.com seems ridiculously cheap! Awesome!
