FP Strictness

Yes and NO

Allowed to enter attraction past beginning of window time? Yes.

You were held up because you were on another attraction whose standby line moved slower, attraction broke down and you where on 20 minutes before the evac, were blocked by the parade, sit down meal you dropped $120 on took longer than expected, a member of your party became ill earlier in the day and you had to take them back to the resort before you came back, the attraction was broken earlier in the day, it took longer than you though to check out in the shop while you were buying $500 of plush.

You have your FastPass and then turn around and wade your way back through the line behind you instead of stepping first to your right or left and then moving FORWARD out the the machine area - NO.

I agree with others on two points:

2-if your time has not yet arrived please stay clear of the FP Return area. Do not shout at those of us trying to use our FP's. Last summer we went with a large group (36 girl scouts/parents) and as we were trying to use our Peter Pan FP's some woman started shouting at us and actually grabbed the arm of one of 'my girls' in the troop. She kept screaming "It's NOT time..we have 6 more minutes!" over and over. The poor CM helped us get through once we explained we had 1 hour left on our FP time.

I recognize these words as English, but have no idea what they mean.

I think they should be strictly enforced. I also think that if you have like 5-10 minutes until your FP time you should move out of the way and not block the FP line for others with valid fastpasses. :fork:

Sorry, guess it wasn't clear. When we went to use our FP's for P. Pan, there was a woman with her family. They were standing in front of the Fast Pass return area waiting for their own fast pass time to arrive. Our fast passes were already valid by at least one hour. When I instructed our group to go around the woman and her family, this woman literally grabbed the arm of one the girls in my troop and started screaming at us that "Its NOT time, its not time we hae 6 more minutes (to wait)". Yes, she had six more minutes until HER fast pass time arrived. We had one hour left on our fast pass time. We did not arrive until at least an hour after our passes were valid. Say they were good from 6-8 PM we arrived at 6:54 PM. This woman's Fast Passes started at 7PM and she was "heck bent" that NO ONE would use a Fast Pass before her family. The poor CM working the Fast Pass Line couldn't make the woman understand why 36 people were 'cutting in front of her'. I thought my husband might get kicked out of the park trying to explain why it was NEVER appropriate for a stranger to grab hold of another person's child.

My main point was if your fast pass time hasn't arrived don't assume that everyone else has time to wait before their fast passes are good. We never run for our Fast Pass attraction. We always make sure we get our next fast passes before using the first ones. So we are always at least 5 minutes to an hour into our Fast Pass time before using them. Am I making any sense at all?

Yes this is clear. I couldn't get my mind around why the woman would stop you from going on the ride if her fast pass had six minutes to wait on it.
Of course she didn't know that fast pass is continuously updated with times... It's not you are waiting for the three o'clock show.

On the first page they were talking about using a expired park ticket to get a fastpass...I know from first-hand experience that this doesn't work, On a family vacation a couple of years ago me and my cousin tried using our other cousin's park ticket. If it is not scanned in at the gate you can't get a FP.

On first gen Fastpass machines you could use expired/used ticket media. About 5 years ago they updated the machines to prevent people from doing this.

Now, the ticket must have been used in that park on that day. When I was in Guest Relations and we'd issue a replacement ticket or a comp ticket to a guest who lost theirs, we had to physically walk out to the turnstile and swipe the ticket, specifically so it would work in FastPass.

Im pretty sure they updated the system last year. Around may or june, I think. Because I still have some old, old fp for E:E which are dated for march 07 or 06 and were the old more sqaure ish lookin ones.

The biggest problem I have are those that "hover" at the FP entrance with 5 min. until their time (I'm sure elizs77 and CommandoDisney, don't) that block the way to the FP queue, showing their FP's while the CM repeats "not yet",

Yup. And then there are the ones that wait for "their time" and accuse people (like me) of cutting in front of them when they (I) have a valid fast-pass. :hammer:

Nothing like having a crazy woman screaming at you and making a scene because she has to wait in line. Ain't people somethin'?

There have been dozens of updates over the years. The change in ticket media was only relatively recent. However, the intelligent ticket reading (meaning the FP machines would verify that the ticket was valid and used that day) was updated about 5-6 years ago.

They even eventually installed a mini-turnstile in the GR locations so we could swipe the tickets, rather than having to walk all the way out to the main gates, leaving the guest to stand and wait.

One of the most annoying issues for guests was when the magnetic strip was not readable on a ticket. To keep the line at the turnstile moving, oftentimes the CM at the turnstile will just override the reader and admit the guest, asking them to go to City Hall or the Guest Relations location for that park to get a new ticket (if it was a one day ticket, they would usually be directed to the window outside). Many times, guests would pay no attention to this and just go on with their day in the park. Well when they tried to use FastPass, it would give them an error, as there is no record of a ticket being used that day in that park.
