FP+ For Illuminations?

Is it worth it? I mean Epcot really ties you up having to choose between that, Soarin' and Test Track. Is there really any advantage to getting a FP for Illuminations?

Not really. We tried it once just for the experience since my daughter wanted to shoot photos. It meant we only had to show up 20 minutes prior for a spot on the railing.

They have an area set aside for FP? I like it. I have trouble finding a third attraction to use my FP in EPCOT. I now know what to use it on.

More info on where please?

It is between the two shops on the World Showcase Promenade just as you enter the area from Future World. Our area was in front of the shop on the left as you look across the lagoon at The American Adventure pavilion.

Keep in mind, if you already have a FP for Test Track, Soarin', or Livin' with the Land (why?), you won't be able to get a FP for Illuminations. They are all in the top tier, and you're only allowed to pick one from that group.

Just my opinion, but don't waste a FP on it if you prefer the rides. When we want to see Illuminations, we typically book an ADR at either Rose & Crown, Hacienda, or another of the restaurants that have a good view of the lagoon for a late dinner (7:30pm or so), and then enjoy the show in the uncrowded air conditioning over dessert.

I loved the FPP spot for Illuminations, so I am always torn on this. The FPP spot is the center of the show and the place it is ideal to watch from. The globe comes closer and you can actually make out what it is showing. ;)

In my opinion, no. I'd rather get a Soarin' FP, ride Test Track single rider, and take my chances with Illuminations. There is also the slim chance you could get an Illuminations FP in the park after you use your first three.

I guess it depends how much you want a really good location to watch Illuminations. The first time I was in town for some training, and decided to get up and head to the parks that evening. Me and my wife also did it a few months ago, and it was great. I've had several times where we have not had the best locations to watch the show, and wanted to see it from the best location I could. If I only had one day at Epcot and using a FP+ for Illuminations would mean I would not be able to see one of the major attractions, I would pass on the FP+ for Illuminations.
