Fountain View Ice Cream closing in early April for Starbucks conversion

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I think both the inside and outside look great, but what's with the lack of seating - in either location?

Time to get rid of those hideous kite awnings, now. Maybe they can use the same BAH demo crew.

My guess is starbucks knows how people tend to stay for a long time at their establishments, maybe disney didn't want that problem?

But again, its a theme park. People go there to have fun, maybe relax a bit. The entire point of going to a theme park is to stay a while. It's not like your local Starbucks in the morning where people are just grabbing their coffee on the way to work.

Would it kill anyone to have a place to sit down?

Well if its a theme park and there are even more people visiting I think they would want to clear them out of there to get to the next guest as soon as possible that way they could use the available space for longer lines. I am not saying its right, I just think they are trying to stretch their dollar like they always are.

Now that the tiling is finished, it looks much classier than this pic. You can see the pictures Steve posted here today. Plus it looks even better in person.

I was thinking, "A Starbucks in Flo's V-8 Cafe? But they already have one on BVS!"

Edited for spelling.

I think it looks really good actually. The purple is gone (thank god) and now it seems bright and airy- what I would consider being the future. The colours aren't going to look outdated for some time, and altogether in my eyes seems a lot less bleak than what was there before this refurbishment.

It does look a lot better. I still don't "get" the colors, but I'm not going to condemn the whole project for it.

The exterior just looks heavy. A return to the light airiness of Communicore is desperately needed.
CommuniCore is round. The fountain is round, well elliptical. The Fountainview is round. The erstwhile ponds are round. The fountain in front of SSE is round. The extentions of Electric Umbrella and Mouse Gear are round. The extention of SSE is round.

Round, curved lines, circles. Because SSE is round and its aesthetics dominate the plazas in front and behind it to achieve a harmonious whole.

But the Starbucks now has a squared front.

What's wrong with these people? Seriously.

The roof canopy is much more pronounced now, thereby emphasizing its roundness. The straight front does not necessarily take away from the curvy look.

The colours are lighter and brighter, and more modern, in a retro way (if that makes sense) compared to just plain outdated.

Not sure where the steps went, but it looks so much more uncluttered without them being immediately in front of the doors.

Again, overall, IMO, a big improvement.

Look at the Pig Cafe in DCA... tons of seating... and has outdoor tables as well lining the street.

Dunno... looks like a square building with a round roof on it to me in that photo.. where the old photo looked like a round building.

I don't think the doors have moved, nor have the steps, just the way the picture is taken.
