Fountain View Ice Cream closing in early April for Starbucks conversion

Ouch. If I were the Imagineer who designed this, I'd be embarrassed. And / or fired.

But no one seems to care anymore anyway. The fact that no one involved with the project thought the light fixture was a problem, or had no issue with the mismatched paint on the ceiling is quite telling about the state of Imagineering and Disney park management these days. Shouldn't a maintenance manager see the paint and realize it doesn't match? Or a manager at the Starbucks? Even a random CM? The Starbucks corporate folks? Shouldn't Phil Holmes demand it be repainted? Or George K? Bueller? Anyone??

It's just embarrassing how clueless and/or incompetent they are.

Could be that Disney is just like any other workplace where if the person at the top doesn't see there's a problem, then there's no problem.

Not really liking it. Kinda plain and teal, teal everywhere. Wood paneling is a bit off too. Looks more 50's Jetsons than 80's future.
I was thinking, "A Starbucks in Flo's V-8 Cafe? But they already have one on BVS!"

It will be the young people loving this and us old folks scratching our heads. It just looks sad, just like any cumberland foods/dunkin donuts establishment, slopped into Epcot..They could have at least themed it more richly like they did at MK.

There was a time when Disney stood for merchandising/food servicing things that you could not find on every street corner. Just think, it all started with a Mcdonalds.

Glad Im not a starbucks fan, honestly have never set foot into one in my life and that definitely is not going to change.

Disneylifestylers.com were able to get video & photo's of the CM Opening...Curious to see what the interior looks like?

He/she is right, coorperate doesnt care anymore, the only care is cost saving as is fully evident in this project. its so cheesily designed and implemented they should be ashamed of themselves...
But like at my job, they will pat themselves on a job well done and think its all amazing and creative when the
majority of the guests will say "what the heck happened here"
Could be that Disney is just like any other workplace where if the person at the top doesn't see there's a problem, then there's no problem.

who is even going to buy a travel mug/pound of coffee on vacation? why is that even there?
and you cant say the people in villas can and make it useful, cause from what i see here, there are no FILTERS to buy for a guest to even buy a pound of coffee and make it useful.

Uh, wha? What's wrong with this picture? Looks white to me.
First, it's something that @The Empress Lilly noted in another thread right after it opened. Initially I thought that this may be something on the punch list that hadn't been completed yet, but it had been open all summer when I took my pictures.

And yes, it is white. That's the problem. The new section is white, the surrounding section is not. It is off white. The two slats in the middle don't match the rest of the ceiling.

It is, it's just that a couple of boards are "whiter" then they others. There is no reason why you shouldn't bypass all the rest of the cool things to see in WDW when we can stop and look up at the ceiling of an outside sidewalk cover to insure that all shades of white are equal. I'm sure it's not a top of the priority list at the moment since so many other things need repair, so I'm confident that it will be taken care of shortly. In the meantime, just don't look up. :)

I was quite vociferous in my displeasure of the design of the Main Street Starbucks. But it was Articos' trained eye that made the world aware of paintgate.

Hmmmm... The interior looks like a Frozen Yogurt shop... Well, at least I can slurp down a Java Chip Frapuccino while waiting on the stand-by for Test Track (considering that the Fastpasses run out by 11:00). I think the exterior looks pretty snazzy though. It looks a whole lot better than Edy's.

There are filters available upon request at all DVC resorts, and probably all others as well. I did exactly that, I bought a small bag of my favorite Sumatra blend at MK and used in in my villa. Saw at least another person buying a bag while I was there. Also, Starbucks VIA is wildly popular. This is a Starbucks location, so they have Starbucks merchandise.

What would be AMAZING is if Starbucks created a unique blend only available at WDW/Disneyland. Call it "Main Street Roast" or "Buena Vista Blend." I'm calling it right now, they'll do this at some point.

Wow, that would be awesome! Mmmm... I could imagine having an Adventureland chocolate/coconut Frapuccino with whipped cream and dark chocolate shavings :D
I'll have a double whip Mickeylatto please.
Or a Mickeylatto lol!

Honest to god, I almost fell off my chair when I read that. All the crap about "we want something that you can only get at Disney" would actually happen and it would be Starbucks that supplied it. How wonderful and I don't even drink Coffee. I would just love to hear the reaction. Man..please make it so!:joyfull::joyfull::inlove::joyfull:

I do like the exterior, sign is much better. Wavey stickers on the windows is a little off but at least the outside isn't teal green with wood paneling.
