Like I don't know that?:rolleyes::lol:

That wouldn't really matter like unkadug said.

Maybe, but this wasn't a roof before, maybe that's the problem.

Not to mention it would look incredibly boring as a flat roof. And flat roofs often do have a problem with water accumulation and leaking...

True.

Hope they theme it to TL. :D They could do much with a random roof. :lol:

But isn't the roof the old floor of the second level and therefore a solid slab of concrete? I doubt much water could seep through.

But again, a floor that wasn't designed to handle a deluge of a 2"-per-hour Florida downpour... Nor the baking rays of the sun. Plus, I don't believe "flat" roofs are really and truly totally flat.

There's also the possibility (though I'll admit a remote one) that they're installing some type of solar cells up there, or a "green" roof of plants... Etc etc etc... Many possibilities.

The perfect place for a green roof is the TTC. Especially the roof tops visible from the monorail. Really bad show.

The previous vertical pylons that are there were preserved to tie the new roof facade into the existing structure to provide wind dampening strength.. Additionally, it will completely 'enclose' the roof area... After the previous demolition, there was quite a bit of air space between the roof (former second story floor) and the walls and structure beneath (because of the removal of the previous facade)... This will re-weatherproof the interior of the building..

so, simply..It's a 'facade' around an otherwise plain-looking roof..

The entire 'TTA' Tunnel through Space Mountain has been repainted (save for the area where the trains view the queue)

The sign that is still present on the building was not for the Skyway, but for the store that was present on the first floor prior to it's closure.. From what I understand, this will reopen as a general store, carrying some SM merch and such (around the same level as Madame Leota's Cart)..

Anything else is just rumor, no rooftop viewing area, no restaurants.. Nothing.

As far as I know, Space mountain will not be receiving a new sign package (a new one is not confirmed at least).. The current state of the signage is due to insurance reasons by the sub contractor... They must removal glass that can be struck by the equipment from the area for safety reasons..

Oh, too true. Shame they can't put in a "green roof" with some plants and gravel and what not, maybe a solar panel or two. Imagine how great that would look as your leaving the MK in the evening, to see the Fab 5 in garden form on the roof. :o

Yes! A solar roof on the monorail station and on some of the visible roof tops and green roofs with characters depicted would be epic and bring a lot of magic. I think if Disney allowed the installation to be sponsored with some informational kiosks in the area they could get someone to do the installation for free. The entire TTC could be lighted with solar power.

It would make a great "Renovation Nation" episode....or two.
