Trip Report Forget about your worries and your strife. 🌞 Live trip report.

Quick recap of my pre-trip report to refresh memories or as just as catchup.
I (Mimi) am going on a solo trip to Disney World, 14 glorious days at AKL to do what I want, when I want.:joyfull:

This morning I woke up excited and ready to go, I threw the last things into my suitcase, double checked everything and happily went out in the rain to catch the bus to the train station. I gave myself plenty of time to get to the airport incase of delays etc. but luckily everything went smoothly and I arrived at the airport with plenty of time to share.
I looked around the shops a bit and took some photos to kill the time.

These cups in a cafe don't spin but are cute none the less.

Finally it was time to board my first flight.

This add made me smile as it was spot on.:)

The flight from Amsterdam to London was only 50 minutes and kind of boring except for the 2 Dutch ladies sitting in the row behind me. They were very unhappy that none of the flight attendants spoke Dutch, keep in mind that this was a British Airways flight, and complained loudly that it shouldn't be allowed for airlines to fly out of Amsterdam without at least one Dutch speaking crew member and the ladies refused to speak English to the crew. I didn't understand their logical at all and was happy the crew members didn't understand what they were saying. I was tempted to turn around to point out their stupidity but refrained. 🙊

Soon enough we landed safely at Gatwick, my hotel was easy to find and the check in staff were friendly and professional. My room is as expected, small and modern.

The shower is right in front of the toilet without a barrier:hilarious: not the best layout but fine for just a night.

No view as my room doesn't have a window.
Now I am just watching some TV, wishing it was tomorrow.:)

I had my last FP for FoP this morning, I got to AK right at opening but took my time walking to Pandora. Stopped for some pictures along the way.

I made my way to the FP lane for FoP only to be blocked by an irate man, his wife and 3 kids. The man was yelling at the CMs that he paid over $500 to enter the park, no way was he going to stand in line for 3 hours etc.etc. The CM tried to explain the FP system and that all guests had paid to be there and asked the family to please step aside but the man refused to move saying he would move when he was allowed in the FP lane. Soon after a Disney suit arrived and asked the man to step aside so they could discuss the problem, the man was about to start shouting again when 2 burly security guards also showed up. The man and his family finally moved aside to let the now long line of FP people pass.
I was very impressed with the CMs dealing with this jerk. They stayed calm and polite but didn't give in. Everyone in the FP line agreed the man was an idiot for thinking he could show up to the most popular ride in WDW and bully his way on.:devilish:
After all that drama it was time to fly!

This ride gets better every time I ride it. So much amazing details, truly breathtaking and exhilarating.

Next up I went cub hunting, I had actually never walked the

So another first for me! Unfortunately the cubs were out of view, I waited around for quite some time but had no luck. I passed the time by talking to the CM about Sumatra tigers and the cubs. The cubs gain about 3 pounds a week, same as me in WDW.:joyfull:
They will stay with their mother for about 2 years at AK, so you can see them in November @Longers but they won't be small anymore.
I wanted to try the cheeseburger pod so I mobile ordered it while walking back to Pandora, I also tried the chocolate dessert.
I can't say I liked the pod, the chocolate cake was okay but I liked the cheesecake dessert I had last week a lot better.

I wish I would only gain 3 lbs a week at Disney, but noooo! You would figure with 12 to 18 miles of walking a day you would at least break even?

Disney on Broadway was wonderful. The performers are so talented, they sang songs from Tarzan, the Lion King, Aids, Aladdin and the Little Mermaid and in the end the whole audience was on their feet dancing.

It was still raining after the show but I had a date with Patrick so of I went Soarin'.
Next stop of course was LWTL, I had the bad luck to share the boot with a large family from Brazil. They talked loudly and non stop the whole ride.:banghead:

Having finished with the Land I wanted to go back to WS to try a few more things from the festival booths but it was still raining hard and I just wasn't feeling it anymore so I made my way to the exit.

Rain, rain, go away.

These are the same people that have no idea that there is now significant planning involved in a Disney Vacation. I bet they didn't have any ADR's either!

Yes! The result of all that delicious caramel :hungry: I just finished mine last night...it was a week old and better every day. I'm weird though, I like it stale :hilarious:
Thanks for clarifying that for me. Personally I like the pecan caramel bars better, luckily I got one of those as well as the popcorn. It was breakfast on the go this morning while I am trying to beat @wdisney9000 record of 11 rides before noon.
