Trip Report Forget about your worries and your strife. 🌞 Live trip report.

Quick recap of my pre-trip report to refresh memories or as just as catchup.
I (Mimi) am going on a solo trip to Disney World, 14 glorious days at AKL to do what I want, when I want.:joyfull:

This morning I woke up excited and ready to go, I threw the last things into my suitcase, double checked everything and happily went out in the rain to catch the bus to the train station. I gave myself plenty of time to get to the airport incase of delays etc. but luckily everything went smoothly and I arrived at the airport with plenty of time to share.
I looked around the shops a bit and took some photos to kill the time.

These cups in a cafe don't spin but are cute none the less.

Finally it was time to board my first flight.

This add made me smile as it was spot on.:)

The flight from Amsterdam to London was only 50 minutes and kind of boring except for the 2 Dutch ladies sitting in the row behind me. They were very unhappy that none of the flight attendants spoke Dutch, keep in mind that this was a British Airways flight, and complained loudly that it shouldn't be allowed for airlines to fly out of Amsterdam without at least one Dutch speaking crew member and the ladies refused to speak English to the crew. I didn't understand their logical at all and was happy the crew members didn't understand what they were saying. I was tempted to turn around to point out their stupidity but refrained. 🙊

Soon enough we landed safely at Gatwick, my hotel was easy to find and the check in staff were friendly and professional. My room is as expected, small and modern.

The shower is right in front of the toilet without a barrier:hilarious: not the best layout but fine for just a night.
DSC_0045.JPG

No view as my room doesn't have a window.
Now I am just watching some TV, wishing it was tomorrow.:)

I took a walk around the lodge last night, it is such a beautiful resort.
Every time I walk into this lobby I can't help but smile.

So many gorgeous details.

There are many cultural and fun activities and demonstrations during the day and evening.

I sat by this fireplace for a bit but had to get moving again because I was falling asleep.

I liked the animals in this railing.

AK is very busy today but still beautiful.
Even though I woke up at 5am again I didn't leave the resort until 11. I had a lazy morning watching the sun rise and waiting for some animals to show themselves on the savananh. Spoiler alert, they never did.
From getting to the bus stop to entering the park took 14 minutes which was good since I wanted to catch the 12 o'clock show of FOTLK. I stopped for coffee on the way and made it with plenty of time only to be told that the show was cancelled. :(

Oh well, now I had time to walk the Gorilla trail, some how I had never done this before.

The hippo was sleeping.

Lots of colourful fish.

After the trail I had a bit of time before my most anticipated ride of this trip so I just enjoyed the ambiance of the park. The theming is so well done. :inlove:

I made the walk past the still closed FOTLK to Pandora.

It was then time to ride a banshee.
Wow, that ride is everything people are saying about it. I LOVE IT!
I can't wait to ride it again. ♥
The only negative was the family riding with me. They stood in line for at least 10 minutes with CMs standing in front of them but waited until we were walking to our banshees to say that their youngest son was autistic and they wanted to ride on the banshee with him. Of course this is not allowed but the mother argued with the CM who was being very nice. The CM said they could do a quick child swap so one parent could wait outside with the child but mom didn't want that, she wanted to ride all together. The mom started being quite rude to the CM saying she could easily fit on one banshee etc. calling the CM unreasonable. :jawdrop:
Finally the CM said they would have to leave or sit down, the family then decided to let the kid ride by himself. The poor thing screamed the whole ride clearly petrified.

I swear that Disney brings out the worst in some people. Sorry for the kid, and for you to be forced to witness that entire situation...and the cm who had to deal with jerk guests.

I am sure the CM's are unfortunately used to jerk guests but that poor little boy broke my heart. The mom knew he wouldn't handle it well and still made him ride it. He was still screaming when I left the chamber with the banshees, he wouldn't get off his.

Oh my goodness, that poor kid!! How old was he? My son is autistic and I would never make him ride something he didn't want to ride. He did ToT because he wanted to, and ended up being terrified. You can see it in the picture, and he came off in tears and he now has a horrible fear of elevators. And that was a ride he WANTED to do! Because of that, there were rides in DLP that we kept him from doing because we knew they would scare him, so we split up. I can't believe the mom refused to do a swap! Is it REALLY that important to ride all at once?

I had a tasty lunch in Pandora, the dessert was my favorite part of the meal.

Belly full it was time to sing along with Timon. After at least 3 cancelled shows the theater was packed but hopping.

I might have to go back on my answer to Aurora that I don't need a prince after seeing that fire eater. :inlove:

Now it is time to relax again, after seeing so many positive reviews only one place will do.
Currently drinking this.

How's your drink? I usually go with Jenn's Tattoo or the Leaping Lizard but that one looks good too!
