Fair 'nuf... But I still hear students complain that they are not permitted to cite a wiki page...

Granted it's anecdotal. :D

Basically that was the only reason I said anything... not to be argumentative or anything, but I had professors who would not let me. I, then, happened to be in a doctor's office and saw an article in some magazine about it. I brought it to the attention of said professor and they let me use Wikipedia going forward as long as I could find some form of minor backup or something...

I'm addicted to Wikipedia now... I'll literally just go on there, lookup something, then click on links to all types of stuff and just read up on random things... trying to learn about other random stuff... I love that site...

What happened to talking about our future Bimbettes?
The world still needs dumb blondes

So if I am the only person playing "Montyball" I am therefore the best in the world and can rightly proclaim myself "World Champion" of the sport?

To be a World Champion in any recognized international endeavour, one must win a tournament recognized by an internationally accepted authority for said endeavour. The World Series is organized by MLB, which is not an internationally recognized authority.

BTW, citing wikipedia.org as an authority is not generally accepted in academia as valid.

You are more than welcome to declare yourself world champion of Montyball. And you say your organization "must" be internationally recognized, but who's going to stop you?

Also I know Wikipedia isn't accepted academically, but this isn't exactly an academic discussion.

Very enlightening thread. But I read through it too quickly and am a little confused: were the cheerleaders on the Germans' side in World War 2?

Only pictures I have are of cheerleaders doing standing tucks and toe touches. And I'm afraid the toe-touche pics was get some racey responses -so best to leave them off at this time.
