FOP 6+ hour wait times

Tired of waiting 6 Hours for FOP? Don’t like the 180 minute wait at 7DMT? Would you rather suffocate in Space than wait 90 Minutes for Space Mountain? For a mere $125 Plus Tax Per Person you can enjoy all the E-Tickets with little to no wait for 3 extra hours after parks closing.

Disney loves you waiting in line. The more crowded everything is, the more they’ll push the upcharge events. Besides it’s not like people are going elsewhere...

I couldn't fathom 6 hours! The only thing I can think of is like us the time we went to Tokyo Disney- we waited 3 hours for Journey to the Center of the Earth. This was because there were no FP left, it was our last day and we hadn't managed to ride it and was on our "must do" list. We actually had nothing but time as we were leaving that evening on a midnight flight and had already checked out of our hotel.

That would be terrible if you make a once in a lifetime trip and you don't have that time luxury... Even 3 hours is pretty terrible but at least you get a chance to do a few other things at the park. 6 hours would nearly guarantee that it would be one of the only 2-3 things do that day.

Imagine being a huge Star Wars fan (or even worse, your kid(s) are even bigger fans) but a trip to Disney would be a once in a lifetime experience due to budgetary constraints... and then find out you'll need to wait 6 hours for Rise of the Resistance...

We've been to WDW twice since Pandora opened and both times the lines for FOP were past our limit. I desperately wanted to go on it, but I didn't. I've got a higher tolerance for lines than my husband but around an hour is his limit and I usually go with that. He'll wait about an hour for the mine train with me but he's never happy about it.

Sorry if my reply sounded like it didn't agree with you. I do agree that waiting is worth it for something that you must do. That's why lines like this generate in the first place. For some people it really does mean waiting 6 hours or not riding at all ever and for them that once-in-a-lifetime experience is worth it.

At least if you're with friends/family you can somehow kill time... I can't imagine how difficult it would be to kill 6 hours though...

It is. I'm not sure what is going on with wait times though for today. That just seems high. Though someone had like an hour way for TTA. Maybe it was that insane or something was off?

It was probably that crazy. This is Winter Break week in the Northeast schools so everyone goes to Disney to get away from the freezing snow.

Would never wait more than 60 mins for anything with two weeks worth of FP+ selections each year we have so far got on anything we wanted.
For the people who it is once in a lifetime or only get a few days each year its either crazy queues or pay for after hours.

I saw that...and I know how far the line gets when it's around 3 hours....it goes up toward the Lion King Theater, then snakes around back into Pandora and up toward Tiffin's.....I wonder where the line goes when it's 6 hours???

I was in DAK first thing in the morning and at 8:45 AM there was already a 2 hour wait....ugh, what time do they open these days when the official opening is 9AM?

You can make breakfast reservations for 8am. You are in the park before rope drop.

Yeah I know the NE has winter break but that seems even more than usual. We're only off one day so we can get off earlier in the year (which I prefer LOL). Spring break is only a few weeks away for us

I went on an extremely cold and rainy day. The posted wait time was 70 minutes and I only waited for about 20. Most of it was just walking to get to the dang thing.

Those people have to go straight to the restaurant.

I suppose you could hide in the bushes but you would still be held at the Pandora bridge from 8:15 till 8:35.

I mean after you are done eating. They usually let people start lining up at 8:45 if the park opens at 9.
That's what they do when we go. At the MK sometimes they start the rides at 8:40-45.

When Star Wars land opens there will be for sure 6 hour lines to get into the land. This is expected. As to if its worth a persons time, that does depend on that persons situation; are they a huge Star Wars fan, did they come to WDW just to see Star Wars land, will this be their one visit to WDW in their life, do they come to WDW only once every few years, etc.

One thing is for sure, the place is going to be mobbed! The lines to get in to Star Wars land will snake through DHS. But don't worry, there will be cast members in the queue selling bottled water.. I wonder how much it will cost by then?

That would mean that with a 9:00 AM open and 8:00 PM close that somebody got in line at noon, and rode at 6:00 PM, or got in line at 2:00 PM and rode when the park was closing. I think that when the ride was being advertised at 4-5 hours, people would be deterred enough not to ride. If they were in the park that early, they wouldn't be wasting the rest of the day in line.

If Disney posted a six hour wait, they were probably just really telling people to stay out of the stand-by line. If people experienced a six hour wait, the ride just probably broke down a few times when they were line.

My top wait is 80 mins. But if I happen to get away last min and take a weekend trip to the world for Star Wars... I could probably do 3 hours if I had a empty bladder. Since it would be a bonus trip with one purpose like seeing new then it’s time we’ll spent. Or if I was local with nothing better to do that day sure I’ll wait. 6 hours now that would be tough.

Yeah, its beyond obvious that Disney is ultra conservative when it comes to posting wait times. For one, they want to heavily push the FP+ these days. To them Stand-by is Stand-by, you wait in line at the convenience of the FP+. But secondly, it costs them nothing if you happen to ride in a shorter period of time than the posted wait. But they'll have heck to pay if you go way over the posted wait time. They might even have to comp you if that happens.

We've not been to WDW since Avatar opened, so I have no experience with a 3-6 hour wait. Is there an organized/approved way of going to the bathroom during that wait without being accused of line jumping?

No matter how new an attraction is or how fabulous it is raved about... I'm NEVER going to waste that much time standing in line. It's not worth the aggravation or the wait inching my way to the front. All of that time that I could be doing other things. Even if I had to miss it until I go on another trip after the furor has died down, I'll chance missing it. Nothing is worth that much wasted time.
