Why waste the time and money on something like that? I can't see this happening, but then again, I never truly rule anything out anymore. lol. They sure know how to waste a lot of money so would this be at all surprising?

I imagine it's part of one of the many spine plans. Personally I can't see it happening. More work than it's ultimately worth. Focus on other things IMO.

I mean, if they want to do a nice garden and keep the topiaries out all year, fine ... as much as I prefer the Flower and Garden festival to Food and Wine, they could really just take a lot of what they do for it and have it all year long (the topiaries, extra flowers/planters, etc. not saying keep the food booths up, but personally they should build more permanent structures next to the pavilion and away from the walkway)

Well I guess they'd better start grafting the Groot topiary now. At least it won't look out of place in front of the Guardians ride. But if they leave all of these topiaries in place all year long, what will be special anymore about F&G? Oh, yeah. Merch. Silly me.

Merch. And food and drinks. I doubt they leave the topiaries out all year, but they could I suppose. Although I don't think the OP meant topiaries. I think he meant actual statues. If that means little statues like around the hub in the Magic Kingdom and a maze/garden surrounding it? Eh. I'm sure it would be pretty but seems unnecessary. Though I wouldn't advocate against more greenery.

EPCOT has to be the most beautiful park in my eyes, it was to me in 2001, when i first experienced it, and still is to me today. I will likely look to travel most times now to the Flower and Garden fest, as the weather is better than august, and well EPCOT is beautiful. Dont make it less of an impact and do it all year.....

The OP stated “statues” and most of the posts are about topiaries, which is it? I’m not a fan of either for permanent implementation but was wondering what we are talking about.:) For Flower and Garden it’s perfectly fine.

Even the Topiary version's of Mickey & Minnie are "Old Heads" Not even the slightest attempt to make the new heads relevant in the parks.
And the scary plastic-face versions of Elsa and Anna are very unsettling. This is why we have face character princesses...

I'm glad I wasn't alone in being terrified by Anna and Elsa in that commercial. Wow.

Though I think it's a clever ad. I like the living topiary idea. It's creepy in a way though, lol

I think most of us were looking at the title. Foliage + Statues = topiary (?) Because there already is a plethora of foliage in and around the Pavilions, so why add more? Large character statues, unless extremely well done, run the risk of just looking tacky, especially if the connection isn't readily apparent. Little ones on a plinth, on their own, wouldn't make much of a statement, so what's the point? Not that I think this rumor is true in the first place.
