Question...

If you flush a toilet that is located directly on the equator...which way does it flow? Clockwise? Counter-clockwise? Does it not flush? Does it just go down straight?

I can see this thread quickly going down the drain....

To know him is to love him, right Marcia? :D

I guess the REAL question behind the original question is WHAT would you be flushing down the toilet? Tube socks? Watermelon? Squirrels?

Now THAT is a good question! If you flush watermelon (which is mostly made of water)...does the water in the melon ALSO turn clockwise or counterclockwise???

If you, by accident, flushed a live fish...they'd need to know which way to swim! The last thing you'd want to do is swim WITH the current!!!

One imagines it all depends on the debris that is in the way - size and orientation, this will create the initial eddies that ultimately determine which way your brown friend spins on his way to the sea.

Ummm...isn't my brown friend....the debris??? What other stuff is in there???
Do you think the moon comes into play? The ebbing and the waning?

Ya know, maybe I should file for a grant to do some research on this. This could be life altering!

Who knows...maybe on the equator...it actually flows...UP!

This is an odd thread.....
If you think this is an odd thread... :D

How about this one...

Definition of an Island:
A piece of land completely surrounded by water is by definition called an island.

Definition of a lake:
A lake is a piece of water completely surrounded by land is by definition called an island...

Now here's the question...

What if...everything of the top half of the earth would be water...
And everything of the bottom half would be land...

(And by looking at the above definitions) Would you call the bottom half an island?
Or would you call the top half a lake... :lookaroun :lookaroun :lookaroun
