I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this - but after Illuminations they're projecting a giant image of a flower (like a daisy) on Spaceship Earth after the fireworks during the Flower and Garden festival.

Quick Question: Is this an old-type laser projection (single color) or one of the new cinematic projections like the American images were after the 4th?

Don't quote me, but I believe it's the cinematic projections like the ones they tested last Fourth of July. Though now that I think about it, it very well could be the old laser system. I can't remember if it was multicolor or not.

The flower's petals are dynamic - it looks like they are flapping in the breeze.

This is nothing new people. When I was at the 12th Annual Flower and Garden Festival last year, I saw the same flower appear onto the surface of Spaceship Earth. The laser is shot from the American Pavillion and the 4th of July display is shot above the former AT&T VIP Lounge, right behind Spaceship Earth.

The 4th show is not a laser - as ProjectTracker said its off Earthstations roof, in the form of a projection. Sounds like the flower is laser. Nice to see old green lasers again (better bandwidth to the human eye)

The sad thing is, the laser system at Epcot is nothing compared to what it could be. All they have to do is upgrade to the newest laser gear and you'd see 10 to 20x more power.

does anyone have a pic of this flower. my family and i tend to leave epcot before illuminations if we stay for more than a few hours. and my dad hate theme parks on the 4th. so i have never had the oppuritunity to see this.

Its nothing compared to how it was either; the green lasers used for Illuminations were much more effective (smoke or no smoke):

You`re welcome! They`re from my re edit of Illuminations 1990 - much better than the original. When I get my backside in gear I`ll upload it to Disney Central (with quite a few others I have backlogged...must talk to RU42!!)

For the pictures posted by Gibsonc they don't look like saler but more like pani proyections (like the ones used at 4 of July). The system can proyect pictures, images and whatever the imagination can put on glass.

But i could be wrong.
