It's a laser. There really is no arguing it. The beam being shot out of the American Adventure (often through the clearing smoke of the just-ended Illuminations) is obvious. You can see the image flicker as the image is traced out, and you can see it broken down into segments if you wave your fingers back and forth in front of it. There is also the weird "graininess" associated with laser light.
