Hey all!

Next year we will be at WDW at the end of the Flower and Garden Festival. We've never been before.
Anyone have any comments, info, pictures or suggestions? What should we expect? Does it bring more crowds to Epcot? Is it fun?
Were so excited!

We were at the tail end of the F&G Festival a couple of years ago. The crowds weren't any more noticable, but the displays and decoration were very impressive. There are a number of vendor booths set up on the WS, and there's also a playground for children. The TV show Yard Crashers had a display then, but I don't know if they return every year. All in all it was a very nice display of flowers, foliage and decorative figurines. I think you'll enjoy it all.

It is a lot of fun. There are seminars in the Garden Town/Festival Center (Wonders of Life pavilion), a butterfly garden, tons of floral displays all over the park, several topiaries, the Flower Power Concert Series (my favorite part), and gardening demonstrations throughout the day. That is all of the stuff I can think of off the top of my head, but its a good idea of the daily events. The concert series is something you might enjoy. They bring in acts from the 60s and 70s to play three shows a night each weekend at the America Gardens Theatre - some acts have larger crowds than others, which may require you to get in line for the show (some you can walk up and get good seats at show time). Overall, it is interesting to see everything during the festival, and should be a fun time. And the crowds differ by the week, because there are different guest speakers/presentations on different days.

The topiaries were primarily in FW (there was a large number of them in the bed right past the main gates). I think there may have been some spread throughout the WS, but I can't recall....

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
It's fine. They add a bunch of flowers to the park and use the worthless Wonders of Life pavilion for the festival center :)

Just send some pix of the old building for me!

The F&G Festival (nature/environment) looks much nicer toward the beginning of the event, closer to the installation of all the nice extras. After a while, the Florida heat takes its toll on all those gorgeous flowers and - although the grounds crew does a great job with the upkeep - it sort of "withers" over time. Not to mention the lifespan of a butterfly....

You'll love it !! Topiaries everywhere. Grab the guide as you go in and it shows you where they all are. Some I would have walked by if I didn't grab it. But being the map and guide collector that I am no chance of NOT grabbing at least 1. The flower power concerts can be fun depending on your musical taste and who's playing. Here's a pic for ya. I'll post more if you'd like. And chances are we'll probably bump into each other. Looks like I'm targeting a trip at the end of F&G as well.

The F&G is pretty cool. The one problem I had with it were the "electrical flowers." I kid you not...there was a Pixie Garden (or something along those lines) near the butterfly tent, and I touched a small yellow flower that was in it (not sure why I felt the need to touch a flower) and it was either electrified or had some sort of tiny thorns on it...kind of like a catfish. Confused the heck out of me. Was fun trying to get my wife to touch them though. :)
