Florida Residents Promo

I don't remember them ever doing a FL Resident promo for 3 parks/3 days, though I'm sure they've done 4/4. In fact, I'm surprised Disney would do a promo that almost, sorta tacitly admits that one park is skippable.

I'm guessing that by offering 3 days instead of 4, they can offer the price as $99 which looks really nice. :) Perhaps some marketing guru has a thought about this 3 vs 4 offer.

3 days has been done in the past. In fact, the price has been done in the past and I'm glad to see it's gone back down because I remember one year them charging $119 for the Play 3 days

Has any of you seen the TV or heard the radio Ads for this promotion? They use the Animals from the Jungle Cruise coming to life when the guests are not around. Pretty funny.

If I remember correctly, the first year they did this was 4 parks for $99. Then last year 4 Parks for $119 (which locals complained about - and I have a feeling they didnt sell as many). Now, I guess they are trying to give the illusion of a better deal with 3/$99.

Yep. It actually says this in the article.

The offer is a variation on previous deals in January. In 2011, Disney presented the "4 Day Wild 4 Disney" deal, which was $119 for four days in the parks. In 2010, the same offer was $99.

And don't forget, the $99 can be added toward an upgrade to a seasonal or annual pass, so long as the upgrade is purchased no later than your third day of use.

Before the monthly payment plan became available, I would create my own "plan" by purchasing the 3 or 4 day promo, and then upgrading it to seasonal, and then upgrading the seasonal to annual, in order to avoid dropping the total amount of an AP all at once. Of course, there's no need to do that nowadays. :sohappy: Also, because the upgraded pass would expire one year from the first day that the 3/4 day ticket was used, you may as well get the free parking that comes with an AP rather than delay and upgrade. And blockout dates? What blockout dates?

Well, I am kinda skipping all of them right now ... but might head back to DL (for the third time since September) when business takes me to LA next week.

But this is really nothing special in terms of they always offer some type of resident deals this time of year. I certainly think $99 for three parks is a decent deal ... about what I feel the product is worth these days.

Funny how this just came up as I first heard of it tonight while watching TV and they were playing that same talking JC animals deal they run every year and it seemed to run nonstop.

But hey, The Weatherman said they were dialing back discounts back in 2009 and since this is $10 more, I guess he isn't a liar, right?

I don't envision going back to the WDW parks anytime soon, either.

Hope you had good holidays. Santa brought me "The Art of Disney Potties" complete with conceptual art for blue-sky restrooms, promotional paintings of the legendary fifth gate based on Jules Verne's writings on personal hygiene, and a Marty Sklar foreward. Thanks, Santa!!! :xmas:

Will Disney World have this deal again in 2014? They've had something similar for Florida Residents 4 years in a row.

$129 for the Discover Disney 4-day Pass in 2013, the Wild 4 Disney Pass was $126.99 in 2012, $119 in 2011 and the 4 Day Dream Pass was $99 in 2010. That's a 9% average price hike. Hopefully they continue to have this special.
