Florida Resident Disney Vloggers on YouTube

Craig and Ryno were always ones I looked forward to watching, enjoying their content and approach to various things. All Ears remains a fav of. mine too. I think Pete got to be too into who he was and lost touch with what he was doing in the beginning which built his following.

Craig's dry sense of humor isn't for everyone but I like it. And him and Ryno together are funny in their own way. Others have mentioned on the other boards that Pete's directive to them was that it was "an audience of one" - meaning himself. And that philosophy was very clear in the later videos. There was a time listening to them debate an issue or restaurant was interesting because you had other viewpoints. It's one of the things that set their vlogs apart from the others - several different opinions and some of them were honest about what Disney was doing wrong. The one thing that I did respect about Pete was turning down the freebies so that they could give completely honest reviews. But his conceit knew no bounds the last few years! I really enjoyed Deni when she was on the show. I've tried watching her solo food reviews but I just can't get into them. But I'll have them play in the background so she can get the views LOL.

My favorite was when Molly was on All Ears. I like Mammoth Club and I like All Ears (although I find myself watching their other vlog, Disney Food Blog, more these days,) but the combination of the two was the best. I looooved their “remember the time” videos.

Recently I sometimes just zen out to Paging Mr. Morrow. What a bright, happy spirit Nate is! He just seems completely authentic and so in the moment and overjoyed by the little moments he experiences in the parks. Recently I saw a video where he met Jack Sparrow unexpectedly while eating and the amount of joy this clearly brought him was so refreshing to watch. I feel like I’m like a lot of people - so uptight at times that those little moments pass me right by. So it makes me happy to see Nate lose his sh** with joy at meeting a puppy in the parks or whatever. It’s a real world reminder to stop and smell the roses.

At one time, several Disney forums (including this one) captured the majority of Disney fans. However with the advent of the many various social media sites (such as YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, etc.) the marketplace has changed dramatically. The DIS, Mouse Planet, Laughing Place, MiceChat, WDW Magic and Touring Plans (just to name a few) are anachronistic as each one has an ever smaller piece of the audience. They may seem to be growing, but in reality, many of their members have moved on or are dead.

I recall the days when all of these forums could only be visited via a computer. When the forum software was changed to accommodate smart phones, some forum members went into deep depressive states. They felt that their "power base" was being eroded.

But, the bottom line is that the Disney fan base is huge and there is plenty of money to be made by even casual and part time fans. Disney fans are compulsive. Look at how the DVC has grown over the years. And as well all know, misinformation has been and continues to be rampant in the Disney fan community. Even terrible Disney fan sites prosper. Therefore The DIS will continue no matter who takes it over.

Deni wasnt to my liking at all either during or after her time on the DIS. She came off to me a bit on the directed belief system that it was her way or no way.

Apparently there was some small drama recently directed towards AJ of DFB/All Ears by Morgan, a former employee who left. I know a lot of people don't like Breedlove but I enjoy all of his videos. But I can't watch Nate anymore. I started watching him in the beginning before the divorce from his wife. Then he took a break. And after he came back, it's like I'm watching a caricature. He's a little over the top for me. I'm worried Molly is starting to do the same thing. I'm beginning to enjoy the new people at All Ears more than I originally did.

Really? I never got that from her from the videos that I've seen. I always enjoyed watching Off The Rails on The Dis when it was her, Craig, and Ryno. The ones there that I never liked watching were Charles and Fiasco. And now Erika.

I'm surprised to hear that. My opinion has always been that guy is one of the pixie-dusting crowd of vloggers. Everything's magical and great and wonderful all the time.

My rule of thumb with any Disney and theme park-related content: You can't trust people who give everything a positive review. Sometimes things suck.

I got the impression that Nate is quirky or neurodiverse in some way, and his almost over-the-top reactions to things are part of his unique worldview. If he’s faking his reactions that’s kinda obnoxious of course - it doesn’t seem that way to me, but I don’t claim to know about him in depth.

I really like Breedlove! Another kinda quirky type, I enjoy that. Wonder what the tiff between Morgan and DFB was about? I’m sure you have a lot of strong personalities in the vlogging world.

Without mentioned Allears or AJ by name, she talked about a toxic and demanding work environment in an article that was published to a mommy website. I had thought that was a possibility with Nate until I saw him make appearances in other's vlogs. He didn't have that over the top anywho persona. I can't remember whether it was Super Enthused (I think Jackie is related to his ex wife) or the married couple who started off Disney and now does more world traveling. They used to do big group bar crawls together and get obnoxiously drunk and loud. That's when I started to sour on watching them. I'm at the age of where I get annoyed watching grown adults act like fools LOL. Genuine childlike joy is fine, drunken idiot is not :)

I hate to say it but I’m not surprised… when I was younger I used to work for small startup type companies and literally 80% of them had bosses who were toxic or kinda nutty or both. I just think the amount of intense energy that goes into building a new business in a new area is not “for” the average, nice, vaguely boring Jane and Joe Schmo type. People who take on that type of task tend to have an almost obsessive need to be in charge, impose their particular vision, and do things their own way - if they didn’t they’d be at nine to fives. Sometimes what they produce is great but it’s always disappointing to hear their underlying approach is not.

I'm old and I don't think I'm the market for these vloggers in any sense, but every time I have seen their videos I have never been able to shake the sense they are creating their own prison by locking their economic well-being into having to go to the parks several times a week and finding something to talk about. I know we all have our day jobs and it certainly could be worse, but it always just seemed so grim to me that I could never get much enjoyment out of people having to act excited when on some level they must be bored out of their minds of filming themselves doing more or less the same things over and over again. It would be one thing to go to the parks all the time for pleasure, I just think the content-creation part of it would turn everything into a chore as their income depends on having videos out on a regular basis. If, as in the case of Pete Werner & DIS (apparently), it becomes a lot of griping, well, it's hard for me to let go of the idea that if you go to any place that often things will start to irritate you more and more.

In short, not for me! I do understand why it may be enjoyable escapism for other people, though.

That reminds of of what happened to the vlogger Michael Kay. He was a huge Disney fan and would vlog his trips, etc. Then he decided to move to be close to the magic. And then the magic started wearing off lol. His channel really went downhill (for a variety of reasons!) after he moved to Orlando.

I must admit that during a brief period I did find him and particularly his brother kind of fascinating!

Fascinating in a train wreck kind of way? :joyfull: His brother (was it Dave?) was something else LOL. His singing and acting skits left me speechless. I only saw a couple so I could see why so many people were mocking him.

I hate to admit it, but... I will say I made it a surprisingly long way through Dave's Hawaiian vlogs as he walked back and forth each day to review different convenience stores and fast food outlets all within about one block radius of his Honolulu hotel. What a Hawaiian vacation that was!

I always wondered how many people bought the Dave Kay Flow t-shirts...
