I think it depends on one’s need for novelty seeking. There are people who want constant novel stimuli, people who want constant familiarity, people who want a constant stream of new details / info about a few high interest topics where the topics themselves stay constant (these are called “intense interests” in children) and so on.I'm old and I don't think I'm the market for these vloggers in any sense, but every time I have seen their videos I have never been able to shake the sense they are creating their own prison by locking their economic well-being into having to go to the parks several times a week and finding something to talk about. I know we all have our day jobs and it certainly could be worse, but it always just seemed so grim to me that I could never get much enjoyment out of people having to act excited when on some level they must be bored out of their minds of filming themselves doing more or less the same things over and over again. It would be one thing to go to the parks all the time for pleasure, I just think the content-creation part of it would turn everything into a chore as their income depends on having videos out on a regular basis. If, as in the case of Pete Werner & DIS (apparently), it becomes a lot of griping, well, it's hard for me to let go of the idea that if you go to any place that often things will start to irritate you more and more.
I like to think that people who vlog really are the “intense interests” type and are absolutely living the dream. If I want to watch 10 videos about the new offerings at Food & Wine Festival, it seems plausible to me that truly passionate vloggers actually are super jazzed about the new offerings at Food & Wine Festival. It’s like wanting to learn every detail about a favorite sports team or whatever.
