yeah, I was surpised my the wall of plates I saw at the tax collectors office.

I know one thing Georgia did was creat a base design for plates to help keep them looking alike, yet different.

The majority of the personalized plates are coming out of Chicago and the burbs... dont see many out in, or from, the boonies.

Honestly Rob.. I dont know why we have such a high concentration of personalized plates -- They are FAR from being a reasonable price as well... Jessie White... our Sec of State... just loves to jack up the prices on everything at the DMV, every year. :hammer: :brick:

I think IL has the highest plate & personalized plate fees in the country now... I think...

i dont know why either but i can say this....i love my obsession and i am not afraid to express it in any way shape or form. yes it cost more but you should see how many parents point out my plates to their kids and i get enjoyment out of seeing the smiles on their faces. yes chicagoans love to be original.

I'm just glad they updated the standard plates to a single orange, rather than two oranges with an orange blossom in between. Somehow the placement of all three items made it look from a distance like an orange with a pac-man style open mouth puking up something white.

My plates are MUCH cheaper since I moved

But that's because my car is old, and inexpensive. It's done on a scale here based on MSRP and age of the vehicle. John's cousin has a fancy truck and had to pay $500 his first year

I think the only time I would get a personalized plate is if I get a red Cooper Mini. My license plate would say "MOWSE". Yes. I have thought about it.

Otherwise, I'm perfectly fine having one of the pretty Virginia plates and NOT pay an extra fee yearly.
