FLE questions

I'm actually concerned that simply moving it may take away some of the allure of the attraction.

Your comments totally make sense and I agree with what you're saying... but I don't think it will ever fall into the Carpets category because no matter where it is placed, riding Dumbo is just a staple Disney experience...

It's all over the marketing, I rode it as a child and will one day take my child on Dumbo... just one of those things that I think every family has a picture of them on, ya know?

I don't know if Raven, Juan or Lee can answer this...but will Dumbo be able to overlook all of the FLE (LM, Snow White and BatB) on the ride?

I suppose if you are trying hard enough, and are on the west-side Dumbo...you may be able to see Mermaid and Snow White. Better chance of seeing the Teacups, Pooh and Barnstormer.

If it goes in doors, I may be wrong and get flamed, but if you move Dumbo in doors you will kill the attraction. Actually if any overhead is added it will be a issue.

Looking at this from a park ops point of view, a roof could help quite a bit, because Dumbo has to shut down in the rain or at any sign of lightning. It kills their numbers, because that can be hours with no one riding. I do understand that less people would ride if it were indoors (or would they?), but I'm just bringing up the weather, too. Having Dumbo shut down every day in the summer because of rain makes the already inefficient attraction even less efficient.

Solution to the rain.... go ride a different attraction... But dumbo "outdoors" is much better then being inside a tent, because that kind of defeats the purpose of being elevated if you have a ceiling or anything of the sort containing a vertical view.

Ooh I've got just the solution!!!

BUILD AN INVISIBLE TENT OVER THE RIDE! :ROFLOL:That way riders can still see everything around them!

Rain doesn't really seem to stop most people since most come equipped with ponchos and go on other rides or shop when it reains heavily or when there's lightning. Even then, I've seen too many Northerners trudging on ahead in full-on Florida lightning and don't realize how dangerous it is in the lightning capital of the world.

A ceiling would definitely kill the effect with Dumbo and it's been doing fine for 40 years now without it.

It's not that guests don't ride Dumbo when it's raining, it's that the CMs running it have to shut it down and not let anyone on. Same with the carpets. Attractions have specific guest counts to make per hour, and if it's raining and no one is allowed on, then they don't make their numbers. Disney has determined that a 'full and happy' day at MK = riding on 8.5 attractions average. When attractions are down, that means less people going through that attraction, which makes it more difficult for guests to hit 8.5, which means more frustrated guests. Low numbers mean either slowmoving lines or downtimes.

If they do can SWSA (boo) then they should put in Pinoccchios Daring Journey!!!!!
I know this may sound ignorant, but I don't understand why they're having such a difficult time figuring out what to do. Replacing SWSA with a meet and greet simply isn't a good idea. Why not utilize an unused and/or currently vacant area instead? SWSA is aging and needs to go. Is it really that difficult to just say, "hey, let's replace it with another darkride themed around 'insert movie title'"? I'm sure there are plenty of plans that have been drawn up before. Why not utilize something (with modifications for the SWSA building of course)?

I am pretty sure that the M&G is temporary and eventually another dark ride will take SWSA's place, according to those in the know on this board. Hopefully the definition of 'temporary' has changed since Toontown was built.

i don't remember which thread someone was asking about the stairs leading up to beast's castle but i was looking at a high res image of the model and it really looks like the stairs will be accessible and will take you to a second level where it will appear you are going into the castle. hard to explain but i will do a pic later if i can
