FLE, best land ever?

An interesting topic for discussion, but the OP is obviously in the "I drink a 5-gallon jug of WDW Kool-Aid daily" camp.

FLE is your pick as the best land ever? And it's "not even particularly close"? So that's your opinion and that's great, but what is it based on, exactly? The Official Disney blog? Shiny press photos? First, as has been pointed out already - It's not even open yet, and won't be fully complete until the 7DMT opens in 2014. Second, there are other theme parks out there with lands/areas that are as well-themed or better than FLE, or even FL as a whole. I haven't been to Cars Land yet, but based on what I've read and seen from a lot of sources I highly respect, I'd put it above FLE. Third, the expansion brings 2 new rides, and they removed an existing FL attraction in the process. Even with the new stuff, there is nothing that screams, or even says, "I HAVE to do that!!!". What specifically has Disney done to "raise the bar... again"?

Oh, I think maybe I figured it out. Disney has "raised the bar" by investing $1.5 billion in a C-ticket, a D-ticket, two restaurants, and a next-gen Fastpass system that does very little to add hourly ride capacity but will let the people stuck in the queues ooo and ahhh over some nice elements... until they get bored of them after the first couple of times thru the queue. And let's not forget the schizophrenia of adding these next-gen queues to entertain guests while waiting but wanting more people to use FastPass (and pre-plan every last detail of their vacation, which contradicts reality when it comes to families with children under 12) which is supposed to take them out of the queues and into shops and restaurants, spending money. They did all of that instead of investing $1.5 billion in D- and E-ticket attractions and/or an expansion somewhere that would really draw people away from WWoHP and actually "raise the bar"? Golf clap...

I understand what you are saying. I just would have clarified it better in the original post and given others an option to voice their opinion as well. Such as...

Fantasy Land Expansion: Great land, or the greatest land?

Yet to be determined in my book.

While i appreciate the detail and flow of the new land, what I dont understand is why not add a true E-ticket. We will see what SDMT turns out to be and I am sure it will help with the entirety of the land, but with all of that space, I really feel WDW should of given us an E ride. I dont want to sound like I am complaining, just expressing my suprise with putting so much money into a "land" without an eyepopping ride/attraction.

Almost literally everything in Disney Sea sets the mark, far and away above FLE.

I have quite a few pictures I took that I'd love to post here as examples, but I just spent the past 15 minutes trying to post them and it's not working.

List of better "lands":

Cars Land
Frontierland (MK, DLP)
Fantasyland (DL, DLP)
Adventureland (DL, DLP)
Discoveryland
New Orleans Square
Future World
World Showcase
Sunset Boulevard
Asia
Africa
Haven't been to TDL so I won't comment on that for the sake of argument (I could place a few bets though).

What else? Oh yeah. Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

I must say, it is visually appealing and the aesthetic looks great! I haven't seen it in person yet, but from what I have seen already I like it! I will reserve judgement for calling it the best until I visit in person HOWEVER after seeing video of Enchanted Tales with Belle and Under the Sea with the Little Mermaid... the wardrobe, Lumiere and Scuttle are some of the best animantronics I have seen EVER! Especially Lumiere. If you haven't seen it yet, I won't spoil it BUT.... HE'S AWESOME!

He's awesome alright.

But such a pity one has to spend fifty minutes of passively watching toddlers running around with cardboards after Belle to experience any of this great new stuff. And if you aren't in the exact narrow group that has a child from four to six, you'll be looked at funny for watching other people's kids too.

In effect, for me, they might as well not have built it.

I'm just glad to have a restaurant in MK I'd actually be excited about eating in. Before judging it as a whole, I'll wait until the coaster comes up and (hopefully) they fix the awful lighting in your face on Mermaid (please!). That queue is pretty special though.

BoG is fun. I'll eat there once. Just to check it out. Then, if I'm lucky and can get a reservation (mark thise 180 days in my agenda!) I might enjoy another of those three rooms a next trip.

It does mean I do not get to visit another restaurant. So the net additional value is pretty low.

BoG looks like a great addition, but being a restaurant, it is of limited practical additional value. Like Le Cellier, it is great that it is there, I'll occasionaly eat there or manage to get reservations there, but it is of little real use.

I think it is, because it looks so beautiful, and it has great rides like Seven Dwarves Mine Train and Ariel's Undersea Adventure. I went on Undersea Adventure in California 2 months ago, and it was pretty nice, especially since it had very short waits, and it was just like rides such as Snow White and Winnie The Pooh.

Even before the opening of one of its major attractions, I say yes, and I don't even think it's particularly close. Disney has raised the bar...once again. Boom.
What does that even mean?

Perhaps some kind of verbal exclamation point? I hate to tell you this, but you aren't talking.
