Am I the only one when looking at the pictures could hear wind blowing like a scene of a deserted landscape in a movie?
Well, if you think about it, if they were going to fix it, they'd have to file a permit, so at least we'd have something, neh?Poor attempt at humor.
It's not working at all.
I just don't think we should demand to be privy to their plans. That's my only beef with all the complaining.
PI and FC are trainwrecks retail wise right now. Disney should fix them and fast, but is under no obligation to tell us what the plans are. That's my stance.
The wasteland that is on the western edge of property, next to the 2 year old Western Way and the Western Beltway, WDWs latest entrance.Where is this located?
What I like better is the left turn lane but then there is a sign telling you that your not allowed do it. :ROFLOL:
hmmm... I too Western Way all 5 days I was in Disney 2 weeks ago and I COMPLETELY missed it.The wasteland that is on the western edge of property, next to the 2 year old Western Way and the Western Beltway, WDWs latest entrance.
Well, now we know why. We were looking right at Flamingo Crossings and didnt know it. I was looking for Flamingo Crossings INSIDE the welcome gateway.
This is such a waste of time, resources, money ... you name it.
I sense a little distaste for the project. just a guess thoughThis is such a waste of time, resources, money ... you name it.
I spent some time just sitting in the middle of the intersection at FC last week. Could have sat for an hour and not had to worry about anyone hitting me.
They have installed lovely rock columns/posts. They have put in typical cheap FLA berm greenery and such ... but there's no there there.
They should have left the orange groves (some remnants are still there).
There are no contracts and after talking to a Disney exec who would know, there likely won't be for ... months? Years? Ever?
Why, for instance, would Longhorn Steakhouse (which just opened about a mile away on 192 and served me a damn fine piece of cow) pay 3-4 times the rent to be 'on Disney property' (which much like the Crossroads at LBV, won't be 'inside' the arches) when they can be a tiny bit away?
This project reeked of greed, much like the destruction of PI, and it just ain't gonna fly the way TDO hoped.
They can't let it become an eyesore, so I almost wonder if they'll wind up selling the land since they seem intent on developing every square inch of property ... which likely explains why I saw more deer, turkeys, otters and even a few gators on this trip than I EVER have seen in my hundreds of visits.
It would be an ok location (not great, but ok) for PI 2.0.
