Flamingo Crossing Hotels

DarthFiscus75: About five miles from DAK gate via Western Way. Unknown on the free shuttle, but if they're targeting sports teams, there might be an assumption that they come with their own bus. Also, how many of Marriott's local SpringHill and TownePlace properties offer free shuttles? I think those brands are on the lower tiers of Marriott, if that's indicative.

Word was there would be event shuttles to WWoS. Sorry, don't recall the source. I think someone here linked it earlier.

Texas84: You're right, it was post #121. From the 10/2/14 Sentinel article:

"...the complex hopes to sell attraction tickets too, and it will provide Disney theme-park shuttle service."

are these developments being done on a land lease? or did disney sell the land?

still hate to see them doing this project, as the Flamingo Crossing property would of been great for the imaginary 5th park, as it would have enabled the spreading of traffic around property more.

Rather than building these hotels for WWoS, it could of been cool if disney maybe built a hotel on site or across the street from ESPN WWoS, maybe something similar to some of the newer college dorms, with several bedrooms attached to a central living space, with each unit housing up to like 8 players.

that could have provided an on site, yet more financially viable option for teams to stay onsite, which could have been attractive for the players to be close by for practice yet still have access to the parks and other attractions in the off hours.

maybe something like this

According to this article, Disney sold the land to the developers...

hey, RCID is a City... Eminent domain applies.

Eminent Domain
The power to take private property for public use by a state, municipality, or private person or corporation authorized toexercise functions of public character, following the payment of just compensation to the owner of that property.

Spreading a theme park complex over as wide an area as possible is not conducive to an efficient operation.

such a waste of disney property, so many ideas that could have been built instead.

the magical 5th gate,
night kingdom.. anyone know whatever happened to that idea? the idea of having an exclusive limited attendance luxury theme park/nighttime adultish experience

was the land of these sold? or leased? would be great if it was leased since then maybe in 40/50 years it could become disney again

its not like it could have been used for anything else... it backs up to 429, and is on the FAR side of it then the Disney DMZ

There is a good sized chunk of land that is mix of marginally suitable and suitable for construction. It's not clear what Disney's future intention is for it but there were permits showing a road build right through the middle.
