Hi, I've been watching the discussions on this site for years now but only just decided to join so hello everyone

I've been going to WDW every year with my parents since the age of 8, I love everything about Disney and the family holidays have been amazing!
This year however my parents are giving me the holiday as a 21st birthday present for me and my boyfriend!

It'll be the first time I've been where I'll be, 1) without my parents and 2) allowed to do the 'adult' things like have a frozen margarita that I've jealously watched my mum drink for the past few years!!

I'm just looking for any tips of places to go, things to do that I may not have done before! I plan to make the most of this trip as its the first holiday me and my boyfriend have had in a longg time! :)

Is there an alcoholic beverage you like to drink? We can make recommendations based off of what you like to drink.

You can go to Jellyrolls or the Atlantic Dance Hall one night.
I highly recommend Citywalk if you are visiting Universal at all.
Get a margarita and watch Illuminations. Get a glass of wine and walk around the World Showcase. There are some great bars at the hotels like the one at the Poly.

Going to mention Jellyrolls and City Walk, good point Mutka. I love a good piano bar.

Victoria falls in the AKL is a nice relaxing place to hang out and enjoy the scenery.

I like to go to the Wilderness lodge and sit by the pool and have a few drinks. Watch for the geyser.

Rose and Crown pub is great.

Raglan road.

try a Lapu Lapu at the Poly. I think you can take down to the beach to watch Wishes

As already mentioned it depends. I love CA Grill. If quiet is on the menu the upstairs bar at Boardwalk is great. Sit outside when EPCOT closes. Drinking around the world at EPCOT is always a lot of fun, but the highlights for me are Tequila bar inside at Mexico, Beer in Germany, and the white or (and:lookaroun) orange slushies in France. Narcossses at Grand Flo, the Wave @Contp.

Hope this helps...

Just be sure to party responsibly....:goodnevil

Hehe, j/k. Enjoy! The Lapu Lapu, mentioned above, is my avatar a very strong and enjoyable cocktail at the Polynesian. If you are looking for a good beer the Poly also has Kona Longboards, mmmm. The Mojitos at the Wave (Contemporary) are the best I've had! The Boardwalk is definitely a fun place to enjoy some adult beverages, especially beverages to go and then a bike rental. Good times!! Raglan Road is great as well.
Around the world in Epcot, I love the frozen Margaritas. For beers I like one in Moracco Casa I think? Moosehead in Canada, Bass in UK, Beck's in Germany, Sam Adam's in USA. I still have not tried those slushy drinks in France, on my to-do list.
Any poolside cocktail in the sun is the best!! I sound like a total boozer right now, these have all been experienced in all of my trips to WDW not just one.
Have a great holiday with your bf!! :D

Welcome to the boards!! You have to try the Grand Marnier Slushie in France! :slurp: I'm not sure what kind of 21st birthday holiday you are looking to have. If it is the Epcot Drinking Around the World kind of holiday - best of luck! It is something that my DH and I have not been able to do. However, we have a varied version that we do - we don't wake up with a head ache and it is a lot of fun!!! So here is what we do: we share a drink at each country and with that drink we take a picture with the country flag and a hat of that country! A fun little game we play! It's fun!

21 at Disney

I will also be going to Disney this year for the first time as a 21 year old! I can't wait to have a few drinks around the world. Especially a margarita or two. Any recommendations for good drinks on a budget? Which place has the best margaritas? Best wine that doesn't cost a fortune? A must try beer?

Thanks for any responses :)

Thanks for all the responses.
We will definately be attempting to 'drink around the world', and some of the drinks you've mentioned sound yum :slurp:. Trying out a few bars at different hotels also sounds like it could be fun, and a good way to chill out after a long day!

I've been having a look at starting to plan our trip and theres a lot I want to fit in as, unlike me, my BF hasn't been since he was 8 so we'll be fitting everything in for him! Boardwalk is something I would love to try out for an evening. would people recommend Jellyrolls or Atlantic dance hall? I really dont think we will have two nights to put aside to do both.

Also, what type of ID is accepted in WDW and other Orlando themeparks? Will UK full/provisional driving licences be accepted? Or will we need to take our passports around with us?

I would recommend Jellyrolls. Atlantic Dance Hall is fun when it is busy, but on an empty night it is boring. Jellyrolls is a dueling piano bar.

You will need identification that shows your date of birth and a photo of you. If your UK license has that info, it will be fine. If not, bring your passport.

Check out this link also. It has a lot of details about alcoholic drinks that are available. http://www.partythroughtheparks.com/

Last year was my first time at Disney since turning 21..and let me tell you its a totally different experience.. you dont realize really how much there is to drink..every park, besides Magic Kingdom of course, has kiosks with drinks everywhere, something i never realized..you go to get some popcorn and a pretzel and you look into the cart and there are bottles and bottles of bud light and sam adams just staring at you..the website mentioned in the post ( http://www.partythroughtheparks.com/ ) above me is awesome and gives a breakdown of every single place in and out of the parks that sells drinks..but try not to get crazy down there and think you have to try everything because that will just ruin the next day of your trip..my boyfriend and I are heading down to Disney in December and have a monorail tour and a drinking around the worlds day already planned out..but if there is a night where you just want to have a quiet night at the pool or in your room with a drink..i would suggest buying wine/champagne/beer off property and keeping it in your fridge if you have one..sooo much cheaper that way :D and if you dont have a car you can get to the hess market (which sells all of that) by taking the downtown disney bus and getting off where planet hollywood is..its right across the street..and no one will say anything to you when you bring it back on the bus..in fact they will be jealous you thought of it
