I called at 10 am yesterday to make our dining ressies for Sept, as it was the 180 day mark, and for the first time in 10 years of going, I actually got every single thing I wanted, on the day I wanted, at the time I wanted. The last 4 years we've done free dining, I have had to adjust time and day of every single restaurant... YAY! This is also the first time in the past 3 years I've even been able to book Yak and Yeti! Happy kids I have here this week :)
So here's what we are hitting up this September:
Fri = Shutters
Sat = San Angel Inn
Sun = Tony's Town Square
Mon = Scifi Dine Inn
Tues = MNSSHP = Pecos Bill :)
Wed = 9 Dragons
Thurs = Mama Melrose
Fri = Yak and Yeti
Sat = Crystal Palace
Sun = Kona cafe
Yum! I can't wait :)

Yes, CBR, always in September, as we go to MNSSHP almost exclusively as Pirates...
Tonys, eh, been there a million times, my boys like the pasta dish with the clams and mussels and all... as far as Magic Kingdom goes, their restaurants are the worst of all four parks, and if the dining wasn't free, we wouldn't go to any of them :eek:
I wish we could do dinner every night at EPCOT, but travel time is just a pain... :brick:

We have found the more we go to Disney the more we eat at Epcot and in the Boardwalk area. So I enjoy staying in this area beacsue of all the time it saves. I just have to do some saving at home to be able to afford it. Your ADR's sound very yummy!! Enjoy!

Shutters/Nine Dragons are the only two that stick out to me.

I hated Shutters when we went. But, we've only tried it once, and it was YEARS ago.

And... Nine Dragons is simply me being a sheep. I've heard so much bad opinions about it (mostly on WDW Today) - so I've never given it a shot.

We have eaten at Shutters every September for the past.... 3-4 years. We like it. 9 Dragons is great. We switched it out for Teppan Edo last year, which is also fab, but hubby doesn't like the hibachi atmosphere :shrug:

oh, man. give nine dragons a shot! here's the thing, and i truly believe this is why people don't like it:

it's not american chinese food. people go in there and expect to get the chicken and broccoli combo that they get on a friday night and eat again the next morning. if that's your expectation, you're going to be disappointed. but the food is very good. i would try it at least once, even if it's a day where you make another ADR for later that night as back up in case you don't like it. but if i had to gamble, i think you will.

Now I am no Chinese food fan! However we have reservations because my wife loves it. What can you recommend to a guy who is a meat and potatoes type of guy??

i used to be the same way until my wife finally broke my picky food habits when we were dating. so i know what it's like to be a no-frills, m&p eater.

that said, try the canton pepper beef. it's beef, onions and bell peppers, a pretty tame combo. it's served in a savory sauce, so it should just sweeten it up enough. i think you might enjoy that. also, can't go wrong with the honey-sesame chicken. pretty no frills, but it's a nice, sweet and tangy take on chicken, without getting into the deeper flavor profiles.

also, can't go wrong with the fried rice, if you're a seafood eater (has grilled shrimp on top).

I will try those options. Think its that I prefer Savory to sweet. Most Chinese food to me is on the sweet side. There are some dishes at PF Chang's that I absolutely love! But I know its not real Chinese food.

yeah, i think the canton pepper beef is a nice option, since it has that savory sauce. which is delicious btw. mutes down the peppers. i think you'll like it. report back and let me know!

ps - didn't mean to nine dragons-jack the thread. sorry, stef!
