What an experience! Dole Whips and Pineapple Floats... have I been living under a rock!

I had never even heard of them before I joined this forum and I had been to WDW 5 times prior!

How was your first experience?

I love them too! Forget about the food though, I want to hear about the hotel and being onsite. How was that for you?

first time onsite... certainly am now spoiled. The beach club is a really nice hotel, one of the nicest hotels I've actually stayed in (theming wise / decor) that is.

one negative, the beach club felt upscale and didn't have that "magic" everyone talks about. it's just a nice hotel, located very close to things, very little bus sharing (a huge perk from what I've read), but with that in mind all I saw were the same high brow people I am used to here in Boston.

 Yah I didn't have one until my 9th or 10th trip and I'm just 'meh' on it-I much prefer the Orange Swirl ooooo :slurp:

Glad you finally tried it and enjoyed it!

I'm so upset! My wife and I went all the way to the Jungle Cruise on Saturday (came from POC side) and saw the people with them. I love the pineapple floats and dole whips so much. Low and behold, once we got off Jungle Cruise we went and headed back the opposite way to get a turkey leg. I knew there was something when we left the park that night that I was forgetting. Guess I'll have to make one at home myself now.

This year will be our 16th visit to WDW and I still have not had a Dole Whip! How could this have happened? Oh well, it's definitely on my must have list for Sept this year!

LOL, pretty amazing, huh.

My fiance makes me so angry... she'll be like oh I'm not that hungry just get your dole whip and I'll have a couple of bites... well, that becomes half of my damn dole whip a few mins later!

I'm glad they lived up to your expectations!

I have to say I was pretty excited to try the pineapple float on our last trip. Particularly after all the love from these boards. It didn't do it for me though. I couldn't eat it. :(

You'll know when you are really addicted

as you cruise through ebay and restaurant auctions, looking for the soft serve freezer capable of making them....

and trying recipes at home....

and finally trying to convince the wife that it would be a good idea to install the soft serve freezer....

The first time I had one, I had to go back that evening for another, and on another trip I had the float, OMG!!! I am not at the MK if I do not have a dole whip or float. They are TDF.:sohappy:

The first time I had one I was watching the fireworks show.. it was so good I was no longer focused on the fireworks, just on the dole whip. I kept looking at my brother and saying OMG!

The Polynesian has a self-serve Dole Whip machine. And weirdly enough, you can buy a Dole Whip at the pool refreshment stand at Disney's Vero Beach. Other than the Dole plantation in Hawaii, don't know of anywhere else to buy them.

I have a Cuisinart soft serve ice cream maker. My goal is to perfect a Dole whip this summer.:sohappy:
