I don't want Carsland, so I hope we don't. The fewer lands devoted to single properties the better.

Hmm. I'd never thought of it that way. There is a precedence for this sort of thing at Disney parks, going back quite a ways; Bear Country in '72, A Bugs Land in '03, etc. But certainly nothing on the scale of Cars Land in '12.

That said, it's a brilliant move for DCA. It's a grand slam home run for the park, after a few years of major expansion and additions to the entire parks roster of offerings.... The 180 foot rock face of the Cadillac Range brilliantly blocks out the last bits of the non-Disney hotels and buildings from inside the park, it pushes the park boundary out by a huge chunk of 12 acres of new area, it adds a mega-major E Ticket plus two unique smaller yet thrilling rides for lots of new ride capacity, it also adds some new shops and restaurants to the capacity, and gives DCA an experience that could only be found at... well, DCA.

Cars Land is DCA's Potterland, but with a bigger budget. I have no doubt the lines will be epic for all three Cars Land rides in June, 2012, and DCA will set new attendance records for 2012 and '13 from their already surging attendance in 2010-11. I also doubt most of the people flooding through the gates then will worry much about such a decadent expansion being dedicated to a "single property". :animwink:

That said, it's funny because a similar concern was raised by many here about the original FLE concept of being All Princesses - All The Time. Scaling back the meet n' greets and putting them in the killed-off Snow White ride in exchange for a mild mine train coaster seems to have satisfied most of us. I know I like the overall concept of Staggs' FLE now more than I did when it was first announced by Rasulo in '09.
