As I am so very inspired by the many PTRs and TRs, I figured I would try one of my own.... (have mercy on me, and if I forget any pertinent info, pleaseeeeee let me know)
When ..... Oct 18 - Oct 27, 2011
Where .....Disney Boardwalk Villas (first time, ever)
Who ..... Me (Deb), 40ish (geesh, I don't even remember 40what!!)
Son (CJ) 22, and an avid Disney fan (like me!!!)
DH (Ron) 48 (and NOT a disney fan :hammer:
Having been to Disney sooo many times before marrying my now husband, (4 yrs this fall) I guess me booking my following year's trip, the day after I get home from DisneyWorld, is just tradition. (Disney IS tradition to me and my son, DH thinks there are so many other things we can do for vacation... I beg to differ!!)
We all LOVE the Polynesian, but in my quest to make Ron a Disney lover too, decided to mix things up a bit, and booked our vacation at Boardwalk Villas. (We go for the F&W every year and this just made sense to stay closer to Epcot) Let me add, we also wanted to look into DVC (for my son, since it was good for, what 50 yrs??). Having made all of my ADRs (schedule to follow), and also booked a specialty Illuminations Cruise, complete with appetizers and champagne. (man, am I a kiss up, or what!!)
So, off I go on to Ebay, for some really nice bathing suits for us all!! (Yep, ebay and got some awesome suits!!) 4 for Ron, which he loved, 5 for me (tried them on and thought "looks like trying to put 5 lbs of bologna in a 1 lb bag, so... guess who started dieting!!) and 2 for CJ.
Now.... come the ADRs, I was very lucky this year, got all we wanted!!! (Now CJ tells me, he wants to go to Tappan Edo on his own one night) ADRs are as follows:
Oct 18 ........... Captain's Grille (breakfast) although on DDP.. out of pocket
Ohana's (this is our tradition first night and Ron LOVES it)
Oct 19 Les Chef de France (first time ever)
Oct 20 Ragland Road
Oct 21 Kona Cafe (breakfast) also night of our *cruise*
Oct 22 Ragland Road (family that lives in so fl joining us)
Oct 23 Biergaten (Oy, Oy, Oy!!!) :ROFLOL:
Oct 24 Le Cellier (lunch)
Oct 25 Ohana (breakfast) a MUST DO for CJ
Oct 26 Boma (breakfast) ... (our first time)
Now..... the flight info (wait... flight?!?!?!? I have to get on a PLANE!!!!! holy smokes, pass the Xanax!!!!) I so HATE to fly, but I am white Knucked Nellie when we land!!! So, after I face my demons, and prepare to book the flight, Ron decides *maybe we should drive, it's a nice drive down I-95, but we would have to leave a day early* Did he say we would have to leave a day early?!?!??! He's lucky I didn't book for 3 weeks ... leave a day early, my foot!!! Pass the Xanax, dang it, I'm flyin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The pre trip planning, is now left to our 3 pups (2 yorkies and a long haired dachshund) Did I mention our dogs (especially my dachshund who looks JUST LIKE PLUTO) are co dependent?? I mean REALLY co dependent!!! Now Ron decides to pull the heart strings.. how my lil man (my dachshund) gets sick, if I as much as do food shopping. (Oh, Ron, how cruel of you!!!) My vet knows me well, I make 2 phone calls a day to her, and check on them!!
So, at 44 days out, I *think* I have it covered. (wishful thinking Deb!!!) I am still trying to conjure up things to make Ron love Disney as much as CJ and I do! (I have taken CJ to Disney every year since he was 3, sometimes twice a year, a sometimes 3!!!) Now at 22.... he remembers me telling him, while we watched Illuminations when he was 9, how someday, with his own kids, he will remember me saying that to him... He repeats that to me EVERY year!!! (yep, you guessed it, turn on the waterworks, I cry like a baby!!!) I swear he gets joy out of that!!!!
So as we prepare to embark on yet another fabulous trip to Disney with Grumpy, oops, I meant Ron, if anyone (PLEASE help me!!) can suggest ways to sprinkle Pixie dust in his cocktails, or plan something extra special, I'd appreciate it!!! There you have it folks, my first PTR!!! I wish you all well, and look forward to your suggestions on how to do a TR!! (Yep, bringing my laptop with me, and a waterproof camera!!!)
