Trip Report First 6 pack Vaca!

Who: Top to bottom, left to right.

Me (Dolly Parton made a song of my name ), Hubby, Bear(8), Handsome (5),Ninja (8) and Jet (10).
What: We were supposed to go on a 40th birthday extravaganza for me back in March both of our extended families were set to join the festivities. When COVID hit we changed locations to Arizona however I still wanted my Disney fix. So we are surprising the kids on their last day of school and heading to WDW. This will be our first family vacation without any extended family (no grandparents, cousins etc). We are excited to spend quality time with our kiddos.
A few pictures from my 40th celebration.

Where: AOA Cars family suite. The girls love AOA for the Ariel rooms however since we don’t have the grandparents to bunk up with we are trying out the Cars suites. Handsome adores Cars so it was a no brainer when choosing theming.
When: May 27-June 1st, 5 day tickets with Park Hopper. I totally goofed on Park reservations. I booked a lot of DHS in the beginning to make sure we had a chance at ROTR. Our younger 3 haven’t been to WDW since 2017 since our last trip was to DLR. Well long story short by the time I went in to change them every park was booked up! So there will be a lot of park hopping this trip.

Sorry for the delay we have been at the beach so we are just getting back into our normal routine. We left off at finishing up our park day at Ak. We took the bus to AKL. There was absolutely no wait at the bus stop so we were at AKL by 7:20.

Our reservation wasn’t until 8:20. I let them know we were there very early. They said it would be closer to our reservation time before they could seat us. No worries we love AKL and watching the animals. We no more than walked outside and the pager buzzed telling us our table was ready.

We had the bread service which we devoured without any pictures. We mostly had the Butter chicken which I forgot to take pictures of. Except Ninja who had soup in 90 degree weather at Sanaa.

It’s funny the little things kids remember. All three of my girls remembered dessert from 3 years ago.

I think Handsome will now remember it too!

We all love this meal and AKL is on my Disney bucket list of resorts to stay. The only downside now was how to get back to AOA. We didn’t feel like waiting on a bus to a park and then waiting again for another bus or skyliner. Uber it was. We were back at AOA by 9:00pm and had time for some cars photo ops.

We were all in bed by 9:30pm and I think we were all excited to get a little extra sleep!

Monday May 31st- Memorial Day- DHS/Epcot

It was Memorial Day! My alarm went off at 5:30again. I was up and ready by 6:00 in my new patriotic ears.

We decided that we would go get in line for the skyliner, try for ROR boarding group and then mobile order some Mickey waffles for breakfast. We were in line about 4 families back at 6:50am. Then Hubby’s quick fingers scored a group 45 boarding group. So I did my part and made my way to pick up our waffles. I really like the cute theming of this resort.

I love how these waffles are actually Nemo, Ariel and Cars themed.

We all sat in peace and enjoyed our waffles with a view while we waited for Skyliner to open

They started running cars by 7:40 and we were in a cabin by 7:48.

We had decided that this was going to be a very short morning at DHS. We had an 11:40am lunch at Sci fi and the plan was to quickly pop over to MK get handsome his sword the head to Epcot. We had never done 3 parks in a day before. Anyways everyone picked a favorite ride and that was our goal for the morning. The park opened at 8:20. First up Bears choice.

We were off by 8:25am. Next up my choice.

Of course red for Handsome.

Getting better but still no best in car.

We were done by 8:46 and jumped over to Handsome’s choice SDD. In an attempt to avoid another melt down from Ninja we were being silly in line playing in the playDisney app and a heads up game while we waited. We all had a few laughs at these creations.

By 9:35 we were on and Handsome got front row!

Ninja choose to take a ride on the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy! However the force pulled us toward these guys first.

The line for the falcon was so long! I jumped in line while everyone else took advantage of a PPP.

This was listed as a 40 minute wait and ended up being a 70 minute wait. It was much longer than we had planned for and derailed our plans for the morning.

Our twins were pilots and it was a very rocky flight!!! While we were in line we also got the following notice.

By the time we exited the Falcon it was 11:05. Our lunch reservation was for 11:20 however the kids didn’t want to miss our boarding group. We decided to head to Rise and hope to explain what happened once we got to Sci Fi. Rise didn’t disappoint. We picked up on other hidden items and the cast member really gave Ninja a hard time for her donut ears.

By the time we were off ROTR it was 11:45. 25 minutes late for our SciFi ADR. We decided to walk over and see what they would say. They told us that they would accommodate us however next time to come to the ADR, ROTR would always accommodate us later. We had done that all backwards but it worked out in the end.

Although the atmosphere was fun our service and food were terrible. They forgot to give us our fried pickles but still had them on the bill and it took 15 minutes to get them removed. Poor Bear only got her ice cream after we asked about ten times and at that point everyone was ready to go so she took it with her. We all had burgers which were fine but I don’t think we will go back on our next trip.

I agree on Sci Fi - went once and it was terrible - my youngest has food allergies and they basically gave her pasta with ketchup - and she is an adult - the food was just sad

The atmosphere is cool but I will never go back

That’s terrible. Hoping they do a menu refresh someday so we can try it again.

It was 1:30pm by the time we finished up lunch. Our dream of double park hopping had vanished. Our kids had seen people making plastic light sabers the first day of our trip and asked if they could do it. We agreed and hoped Handsome would forget about his sword.

After this we headed out of the park however we needed to take a few pictures with our new light sabers.

Have tried Sci-Fi twice. We were disappointed both times. Never again.

We took the quick flight between Hollywood Studios and Epcot however we encountered a less than magical cast member. We walk up to the loading area and we are the only ones in line. A Frozen cabin is coming up and would be ours. The kids are squealing and excited since this will be the first “wrapped” they rode on and stuff like that is important to little kids. Two adults walk up after us in the 2nd line and for some reason the cast member waves them forward. My kids were so sad. Hence the pouty ride.

There is no way the cast member didn’t hear their excitement. My husband was so mad and proclaimed “ three years ago cast members would have never let that happen.” I hate to admit it but I agree with him. Anyways we had decided test track was going to be our first ride at Epcot. We stopped to get a topiary picture first.

It was really windy and I kept eating my hair.

My children proclaimed “Awkward!”at this one.

Test track was listed at a 40 minute wait and that was accurate. We passed the time talking to a father in front of us who was on a trip with his 5 kids. They always stay at AKL and he was so disappointed since they couldn’t get any dining reservations at Sanaa etc. I felt terrible considering we had just had dinner there the night before. We had just bought a Suburban a few months before the trip so the kids thought it was cool that “ our car” was inside the ride.

We had a blast and everyone was debating which was better Test track at WDW or Raditator Springs Racers at DCA. It ended in a tie. That’s the reason I had 4 kids.

Next up Mission Space.

We went Orange and my motion sickness wasn’t thrilled with that decision. We decided to take the next one easy. Spaceship Earth time. A few photopass pics first.

Again apologize for the long delay. We started back to school and it’s been an emotional week for me. It’s Jet’s last year in elementary, Handsome’s first year and I started working a full time schedule again. life moves fast.

Alright we left off with us finishing up our photo shoot. Spaceship Earth was a walk on.

Just after boarding Hubby texted that it was time to check in for our Southwest flight. As a result all our SE pictures are of the top of my head.

The rest of the family didn’t fair much better.

We decided to head to Soarin next.

Stupid COVID I couldn’t smell any of the smells.

After Soarin the family opted out of the Farm Ride. Off to the Seas we went. We had to recreate a picture we had taken 4 years ago with some friends. The kids are holding their arms up around their missing friends.

Onto the Seas we went. It was a walk on.

It was about 5:30 when we were done with Nemo so we decided to make our way towards WS. We had a 6:00 ADR at Via Napoli. We walked slow looking at the topiaries as we passed. We checked in and the castmember told us it would be closer to our reservation time. The castmember was in love with Ninjas Black Widow tshirt. His daughter also loved Black Widow. Ninja is devastated that Scarlet Johansson is not going to be in anymore Disney movies. They called us back about 6:05.

I just love these pizza ovens!!! We are pretty boring with our pizza toppings so we just got a cheese and pepperoni pizza. Our server was from Ohio and we had fun talking with him.

It was so good! I could go for a slice right now!
